  Advice needed for a friend who has cancer.......what can I do to help her??

  i just found out a friend i have know for 2 years,,,,,,,has cancer in a lymp node under her arm pit.

  her blood work came back , with spots in it she said, and irregular.

  she had breast cancer a year ago and some lumps were taken out,,,,,,,,,she was supposed to be well .. she told me not to cry when she told me the news, and i tried to swollow back the lump , it was on the phone so i could do it not seeing her face.

  Just be a good friend...like someone else mentioned, Listen to her. I'm 11 months C-Free. Mine was in the arm pit area...the doc took it without getting into the lymph nodes...barely. It was size of a golf ball. It was malignant big time. Had another removed from my chest...smaller, pre-cancer. Got two more in other lymph node areas they're "watching" for growth.

  Just be there to listen and help. Lance Armstrong's book helped me a lot with my outlook. He was really bad off and came stormin' back. It's not the automatic death sentence it used to be years ago. Being involved in the Cancer Walk was really helpful...and talking with other survivors. I wish her and you the very best. When you learn you have IT everything becomes a blurr...it's great to have someone help you with the day-to-day stuff. Please give her my best and if you wish, PM me.

  And for Gawd's sake keep her away from all JW's if she knows any. They tend to be the most negative people on earth and they say great things like, "Oh well, it's a quick trip to Paradise"....they're sick!!

  Moving to Bend, Oregon.......GAH!! Help!!

  well, wife got a transfer to bend, or.. this is good - we've been trying to move out there for a while.

  we're in ne ohio now.. only problem is....well, *i* don't have a job out there yet!

  also, we need to find a place to stay, need to sell our house, have a ton of things we need to get rid of..... uggghhhh....never moved this far before.

  Good Luck. Do you have any Logging experience? Oregon economy sucks. Bend is colder than Hillary Clinton's smile. Very pretty though...and no sales tax...but high property taxes...great hunting and fishing. Couple of world class ski resorts there. Also, if you're inclined to be an environmentalist, don't tell anyone and rip that Sierra Club sticker off your bumper. They pride themselves on their Spotted Owl recipes in that neck of the woods. And if you're originally from Caulifornya...keep it to yourself, 'cause they'll find a hundred ways to screw you. What the hell...it's an adventure!

  Wedding Present: The Family Happiness book

  my mother told me that after i get married, she's going to give me the "family happiness" book.

  i've never read the thing, but i know it's a wts publication that often gets given or mailed out to newlyweds who aren't in the troof.

  what's your opinion of this "fine christian publication"?

  Last Assembly!

  just wanted to let everyone know that today, piph and i attended the last day of our last borg assembly ever!

  the feeling walking out was wonderful.

  my heart kind of sank a little when i remembered that i still had to attend meetings for a little over a month.

  would building offices show a disrespect for the victims or would it be a good idea in the sense that it shows the usa are picking up where they left off and not being deterred by the terrorists?.

  Jesus did recognize and use God's name.....but, it wasn't jehovah

  that's right - like so many scriptural verses which have been corrupted by translation and interpretation over the centuries, so too has the defining scripture where jesus clearly identified gods name.

  of course, that verse is the so called model prayer, and contrary to the beliefs of many it does highlight god's name.. as jesus said -"let us pray then this way - our father who art in heaven, harold be thy name....... so once again, the witnesses have got it wrong.

  they should refer to themselves as harold's witnesses, and they should be doing harry's will.

  You're all wrong...it goes like this..."out father who is ART in heaven". His Name is Art. Of course Trinitarians use this verse because if he was Art in Heaven...then he became Jesus while on earth and, well you get it.
