  What kind of Apostate are you?

  i've been on this site now for a little while and think its brilliant and its been a tonic in getting things straight and for gathering research.

  (thanks simon & ang).

  in fact its difficult to get work done during the day because of reading posts on here.. a couple of months ago if someone wouldve asked me whether i was apostate i would have flatly refused partly because the indoctrination still has its effect even after a decade and the negative connotation attached to the word 'apostate' is still at the back of my mind.

  Im not bitter either im just one who is searching for myself and using my own reasoning and conscience on bible matters. I still have some pain from the org but I try not to dwell on it. I dont think it benefits anyone by bashing one another but I can wholeheartedly understand why some do harbour hatred for the JW religion. Im not afraid to express my beliefs, and im not afraid to expose any false reasoning whether watchtower or any, if it is in coflict with scripture. Im not one for confrontation unless I need to protect my own belief system so I would probably make a lousy picketer. I prefer to enlighten people about the Watchtower if I see that they are in turmoil or fear induced by its indoctrination. Ive helped 4 people out this way, just simply by being humble, quiet, understanding and letting them know that they dont require and org. to find God or christian love.

  He's depressed, what about the 10 victims family's? Im alot more concerned for them then some a-holes depression after he went out and killed these 10 people. He deserves what he gets. Its like the old saying "you reap what you sow." He deserves much worse then depression and I hope they dont waste tax dollars treating this guys depression, it would be much better spent in other ways, like on the lethal injection that he will probably get. Thats a much better cure for his depression. lol I dont mean to sound mean but he deserves what he gets and to be a baby over it after is ridiculous. He should face his consequences and be a man not a snivelling self sorry idiot. "If you cant do the time, dont do the crime"

  When is the real date for the memorial

  ive heard it is not actually march 23 but is the night of march 22. i am asking becuase im just going to celebrate it on my own but i would like to try and do it on the correct date.

  if anyone knows the correct date it would be much appreciated as i know the witness date for the memorial is out to lunch.. ticker

  Thanks for thoese insights on the date everyone. Its funny the witnesses tend to think their la carbon copy of the first century christians and they cant even get the date right. It takes other sources to even discover the true date. Good point Classicist, your right their is no specific mention of a yearly date to observe but like you stated, they were to keep doing it in rememberance. I also recall reading awhile back how the NWT actually slanted certain scriptures that supported a frequent rememberance, once a week or so was the custom I believe. Very interesting point and a good one to refresh in my memory. Thanks again to everyone for help with the date and yes I just plan to get some wine and crackers and partake.

  LMAO I actually typed wine and cheese and then noticed what I had typed, oh well made me laugh.

  Haha Dave good survey. I scored 27%. It was the bible inspiration question that got me. lol The fact that I ride a motorcycle puts me in the rebellious side though and this is so true as they always secretly hated my motorcylce. They would make stupid comments about how they would never want a motorcycle becuase it was so dangerous. WTF its a friggin motorcycle and I'll never quit riding it. Also the fact that I dont let others make my decisions and I look for integrity throws me out of the JW circle, but thats good for me. lol

  No its not just you, ive also noticed in the past few months efforts seem to have been stepped up as to confront faded ones. They seem to be wanting to find some evidence of wrong attitude or wrong doing on these ones part. Im not sure what their motives are in doing so but I feel that they may be trying to force us either to go back or be dissasocaited. I have noticed a step up in their onslaughts lately though, even toword ones faded for 5 years but maybe its just becuase its memorial time.

  well, it's going to be the first memorial i'll miss out on.

  no big deal, but i guess it has to be considered one of the final stages of "apostasy" :-).

  i remember i used to see some df-ed people at memorials.

  Im not going this year either even though ive been invited. I just explained my reasons for not wanting association with the organization when they came but of course they still tried to persaude me but to no avail. I think I will be more content to avoid their judgemental looks anyway, and their phoney "HI how are you doing." I dont think I can take that when the rest of the year they act like im not even alive. I may just have a little memorial at home to show appreciation for what Jesus did.

  Good to see you guys are free from the watchtower too. Its nice to know were not alone in how we feel, its good people are finally waking up to the truth about the watchtower. Hopefully more in it will realize what it really is.

  Oh what a shame denied bail. LOL Actually thats a good thing, saved the suckers donation money from being spent to spring out a bunch of misfits. Too bad they didnt stay locked up. The revelation book to me is just full of speculation and self gratification. I couldnt even be bothered to read it again and never really enjoyed it as a witness, but yes it would be an eye opener to a non JW. Haha so how did you stomach all that precious truth. lmao.

  I would tend to agree also with Dawn's comment about it being on a much larger scale. Often we try to make things black and white when their not, Jesus said he would have disciples or followers but not that he would set up the one true organization. I think any person regardless of denomination, even thoese who worship without a church or organziation, as long as their motives and heart are in the right place are acceptable and approved by God. Its due to narrow mindeness, elitesm, and arragonce that one would view themselves in an aloft position to other christians, the very thinking God condems. We are all fellow slaves and their should be no class distinctions, regardless of religion God reads our hearts and no where does God say we are judged by our religious affiliation. Its just another Watchtower distortion that they spin off to their members.
