same here, my loved ones, the grandmother i never knew etc. I do believe that the paradise will happen but I don't know how. Maybe its a heavenly paradise and not of this earth. Maybe a different dimension. WHO knows? If and when I get there, I'll find out. I try not to get hung up on the details because no one knows how it will all go down. What's the point of speculating it? I guess i feel that way because growing up as a witness, their interpretation of it always freaked me out. Kinda orwellian i guess. I thought we would all be like zombies with no free will leading endless boring lives, in the country. Yuck. So i have given up on thinking about paradise per say. I'd rather think about enjoying the life i have now.

Are you easy to influence?
by JH inare you the type that's easily influenced by the opinion of others?
i'm easy to influence, but once i'm back alone, i do what i wanted to do originally.
how about you, are you easily influenced?

mama
I used to be very easily influenced by others, went along with what i was told to do, think, etc. Not now, it took alot of independance to stand up against my family, my hubby's family, friends etc., to leave the organisation. But it made me much stronger, if i don't want to do something now, i don't. I can no longer be bullied, cajoled, reasoned with to do anything that does feel right for me. It was a long road though.

Great now all the wives of england will have to wait till morning for their dumb hubbies to come home after a night out with the boys, ha ha. Seriously though, now the alcoholics can drink all night and drive home in the morning, yeah! I can see a dance club being opened till 3 or 4 for ppl wanting to party and dance the night away, but all pubs open 24/7, yikes! I bet it won't become a reality for all pubs, some will stay open but many employers won't because not too many staff will want to work backshift at a pub.

Ozzie's UnWeekend Poll
by ozziepost inthis week's question is:.
if you were marooned on a desert island, what drink would you die for?.
1. shiraz.
-
mama
well, that depends. If the island had clean drinking water then i would pick a tall cold beer. Otherwise I would have to say water because alcohol dehydrates. So if i am already dehydrated from lack of water I am not going to want booze which will only make my situation worse. Sorry, a mom speaking.

How do you answer when the witnesses call at your door?
by jeanniebeanz in.
to tell the truth, i am surprised that they call on me anymore since they know who i am.

Funny thread, my hubby just informed yesterday that two witnesses came to the door, he had fallen alseep, worked all night, and our 5 year old let them in! (yes, i ragged him out for falling asleep with our 5 year old home), they were babbling on about the mags, and he just took them and shut the door on them. I told him, you know they'll come back now and he said "i know" "i know". He was so tired he just wanted them gone. I hope they come back when i am here, so i can tell them to put us on their do not call list, because if you don't when someone else gets the territory they'll be back! I can't wait for them to come back, he he, should be fun. ( FOR ME NOT THEM)

I remember a talk i had when i was 16 with another girl in the hall 16. The talk included a scripture about Absolums ass. While, you can picture it, we got to the word ass and started giggling, then pissing ourselves laughing. Couldn't finish the talk, my mom was sitting there horrified, needless to say we got ragged out big time but its one of my fondest witness memories, always makes me laugh.

Conversation Starters with JW Friends
by cab1000 ini am always looking for "nice" things to say to my witness family.
things that would at least make them try to think outside of their box.
here are my some of my favorites.. right now my top favorite is "tell me truly, honestly, the god of this universe, almighty in power, lord and master of all, all knowing, eternal, god of gods, (yes, hammer that point), has picked the jehovah's witnesses, out of all people, and out of all religions, worldwide, to represent him and his wishes, even though, the jehovah's witnesses have been wrong in the past, now, right now, if any person on this earth, any person on this earth, does not pay attention to the jehovah's witnesses, he or she will forever be destroyed at armeggedon?

Interesting conversation points. One I had a conversation with my mom that left her alittle off kilter because she couldn't give a good answer. It was about blood transfusions and their belief that blood is sacred and called back by God when someone dies, therefore no blood transfusions. So I asked her if i am not worthy of the new system and will die at armageddon then why can't I take blood? I am not going to live forever and therefore He will get the blood back sooner or later. She didn't have an answer for that one. On another occasion, we were talking about Jesus's death, and she said something about the new system and that the heavenly hope was only for the anointed. So I asked her, why then, did Jesus tell the sinner being strung up beside him "i tell you this day you will be with me in paradise". Was he anointed? He was being murdered for his sins and was not a follower of Jesus, so how come he got to go to heaven? She just looked at me and said she couldn't believe the way i was thinking. Well, at least i am thinking.

Man, i was brought up in the wrong jw family, we had no holidays or make-ups except my parents anniversary, which always pissed me off that they could celebrate their anniversary and give each other gifts, but no freaking way would they buy us a birthday gift. Oh, i forgot, we did get one present on grading day at the end of every school year. My mom bought me a ruby ring for my graduation, only really nice gift i ever got. I did appreciate that one. As we got older and my parents got softer, they were really strict when we were little, they would sometimes buy us a present on their anniversary. Boy, am i glad my kids have christmas, birthdays etc. I remember every year, some little shit in my class would ask what i got for xmas, and then say "oh, i forgot. you don't get anything". That was very painful. Kids are cruel and when I see my girls open their presents on xmas day, tears well up in my eyes, cause i am so thankful that they will never know that feeling.

Jehover's Witnesses get a taste of karma....
by Elsewhere injws and the wts have policies in place for the sole purpose of discriminateing against and harass people who do not believe the same things they believe.
they hunt down anyone who exercises their freedoms or speech and religion so that they can destroy the person's family... now they are getting a small taste of what they do to other people... how do they respond?
they cry "foul".. .

It amazes me how ppl who left the org, because of no love, etc, could enjoy reading this, (franklin..hmmm). I read this and thought omg, those poor ppl. I don't care if they are witnesses or whatever inhuman is inhuman. As a mom, the horror of being dragged into a police station with your three children in tow, one a baby, no less, is a terrifying nightmare. Nobody should have to go through that. And as for the deserving part, well, personally I had many bad experiences growing up as a witness BUT if I enjoy seeing them suffer then that makes me no better or no more christian than all those witnesses who love to talk trash when someone is down and out. I feel for any human being who is tortured. And as for karma, if it did exist, the nation of germany wouldn't exist, bill clinton would contract aids, hilary clinton would be president, the united states would be hit by a nuclear bomb with thousands dead, we wouldn't have to punish murderers because it would all come back on em anyway, what a load of crap.
