It's not fair! I wanted more children and could not afford them even with health insurance! We made enough money to get by but, not low enough to qualify for any kind of assistance.
my 17 year old son told his dad that he didn't want to be a jw anymore about 8 months ago i think, and doesn't go to meetings or assemblies.
he's been accepted to one of the best universities in the country and will start this fall, with his dad's blessing.
their congregation had the summer convention this past weekend.
All they will do is make him feel bad--they might be trying to use him to get info on YOU! I went thru this when my son was underage and the sneaks would try to talk to him at his job!
a friend of my wife just called her and said she was now ready to part with her deceased husband's personal property and was going to be having a big yard sale sometime this summer.
her husband, not her, was a third gen. jw elder and she's setting aside his theocratic library for my wife and i to take a look at before she sells anything in the yard sale.
i told her that whatever she did don't put them in the yard sale because some unsuspecting mind could become disturbed if read unsupervised.
Sell it back to witnesses and make money off them!
i am saddened and angry to observe the pitiful situation some of my jw single female friends are in.
they are over 40 and have little work record, hardly any money and in some instances compromised health issues.
i am angry because these women were waiting for armageddon to come and save them.
I agree with flyinghighnow. I am so unhappy in my marriage, but if I leave, I have nothing. No money to my name--no education--no work experience.........................................thank-you Jehovah

Yes, I was and now it drives me crazy when my mom says that satan caused something or the demons did it! It's such a weight lifted off my shoulders since I quit believing that crap! My stove is on the fritz--keeps beeping for no reason--so when it's quiet and it starts beeping I yell "smurfs are in my stove!"
kind of a strange experience here, maybe someone can make me see what's going on.
my parents live in another state, to visit them would require at least a 22 hour drive, no trains, .
planes are fine but since the airport is in the middle of nowhere tickets are getting quite costly ($$$$$$.
I don't see how any of this is bashing JW's--They go on and on that they are the only people in the world who have true love. There are witnesses that are truly loving--but most want something in return.
