Mr Moe,
Sweety! My heart goes out to you. Just the fact that "they" can inspire such nervousness (FEAR, REALLY), is a reminder that "no thank you, I never want to be subjected to that kind of 'love' again!" This whole thing is probably nothing. But if it is (and I know the thought of losing your family's love-albeit conditional-is terrifying) but you will survive. You are strong. Just look at you. I've read some of your posts--you're a fighter (just read the abortion thread --yikes! :) and a survivor. Sometimes a clean cut, frightening as it seems, takes far less time to heal. Like a wound that's cauterized.
Release and be at peace--no matter what happens. Rest knowing that you are loved. You are loved and valued by those here and you are loved by your daughter and you are loved by the universe (your Creator).
Be still and know that I am God....
Be still and know......
Be still.....
Be.................
Love and Peace,
Bridgette :)

Elders meeting tonight?????? Need advice???
by MrMoe inwell - my father (he's an elder) asked me if he could watch my daughter saturday night and i could pick her up sunday at the meeting or he would drop her off at my house.
well, they have offered to watch her overnight plenty of times, but he has never offered to drop her off at my house on a sunday!
the clincher - he said he would normally watch her tonight since it's a friday, but he has an elders meeting.

A Call To Deal With Apostates
by AlanF infrom the july 1, 2003 watchtower article "righteous requirements":.
.. the kingdom of god is the highest government anyone can serve.
how does jehovah issue the call to his people?

"Kill Apostates?
If they could, they would.
Don't ever forget."
You know, I do believe, as unfathomable as it seems, they would, Francois. The sad thing is, that when I read this, it was such a mirror image of WT writing AND reasoning. If they took the slightest notion to, they COULD do this. Chilling.

Dfd and looking toward re-instatment
by GoingNuts ini have been dfd since i turned 19, i aux, pioneered for a short time and then selfishly went after the fruits of the flesh.
smoking, sex, drinking, drugs, etc.... the thing i couldn't, or wouldn't, see at the time was that i was acting selfishly.
it didn't matter what others in the cong.

Dear Going Nuts,
If back in the ORG is where you need to be, then go. Seek your reinstatement. I wish you well in your journey. But keep an open line here. This will always be a place where you can speak freely. I believe think4iself gave you some excellent advice about seeking counseling. I agree with her also, that your "wildness" is probably more a product of your age, than some horrid automatic effect of leaving the ORG. What I found upon my exit was mostly just people getting on with life. You know, education, career, marriage. Just normal stuff.
BTW, the final straw for me was the utter lack of love. I began to "judge" the society with the same standards that they held up for Christendom. One point they always made was that the MAJOR culpability for Christendom lay in her claim to be God's representative on earth. hmmmmm.....
I'm learning not to judge anymore. ANYONE, ANYTHING.
As I've said, if it's where you need to be, then NOTHING and NO ONE can stop you. Not even apostates. Peace and love on your journey. Wherever it takes you. I hope you find healing and wholeness.
Love,
B.
p.s. Please do not be disheartened by a lot of the pain that is manifested here as anger. It truly is just pain and hurt. Now that it's found it's voice (sometimes after years of "stuffing it down") it can be pretty vitriolic. Allow people the processes they need to heal.

Dear its my life,
Do you know that the average age of nurses these days is 46? They're DESPERATE for nurses. They are reaching retirement age, adn there is no one to even fill their ranks. They can't even build enough nursing schools to keep up with demand. and there's not a real influx of people going into nursing, either. It's actually pretty scary. They jokingly (halfway seriously) told us at a meeting not too long ago (I work in a hospital, though not as a nurse, yet), that "No one in this room can retire". I would go back to school. I am, in fact going back (I had started and dropped out) to school at 31 years of age. I am pregnant, the mother of adn 8 year old AND just got married. I just have to do this. If I were you, I'd look into it. There are a lot of classes you can take online, and they're so desparate, there are a lot of excellerated programs. Once I complete my RN, I can complete my BSN in a year. Believe me, if you were going to enter into a career "later" in life, nursing would be it. -

Best urban legends, you heard in the org?
by Nicolas inpersonnally, i heard a lot of urban legends about the presence of a devil in a house.
it was always the same kind of story about a devil who lived in a house and then the jw arrive and they pray jehovah and suddendly, the demon go away...

I heard this one sitting at a kitchen table one night with a sister.
A sister buys a bra at a garage sale (yes, a bra). And wears it to bed (why, I don't know). But can't get to sleep because of the "tingly sensations" in her breastal area. I'm not kidding. I had a hard time keeping a straight face. The "sensations" increase, and she wakes her husband. Diagnosis: molestation by demons. Bra burned. End of story.
I remember wondering if sista friend was a little sexually frustrated.
hmmmm...

Dear lurking elder,
I mean this in all sincerity: if you truly care, listen to what's being said here. Really listen with your heart. Perhaps take a little piece of reality back with you.
May you go in peace -

Official WBTS party line:
Dear beloved Youths of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society:
After careful review, we have suspended adolescense and puberty for all youths, as it has been deemed detrimental to your spirituality and the health of the Organization. In fact, starting now, you will skip immediately to your forties, in behavior and maturity level (yes, I know a lot of 40, 50 somethings here have a LOT MORE fun than the average poor JW kid--trying to make a poiint here! :) There will be no dancing, no music, and no fun of ANY SORT! AND you WILL be joyful. NOW, put those smilies on children and GET OUT IN SERVICE!
The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!

Cassandra Welcome! You will find comfort just knowing you're not alone. When I left, I was terrified that there was no one on earth like me, and that I would end up like all those "experiences" that they always relate through the gossip mill about people who leave and wind up crack addicted/selling themselves, etc. What I found via lurking about on the internet was people generally getting on with their lives. Getting their educations, developing their artistic capabilities. Just living.
Well, once again, welcome, I hope you find things that you can use here. Take what you need, leave the rest. :)

jonjon,
Sweety (I don't know you, but I want to give you a hug right now). I'm SO sorry for what you are going through and what you have been through. Not much to say that anyone else hasn't--just want to add my condolences and blessings to you and your departed friend(s).
Go say goodbye...
And just a side note (not to get on a soapbox here) but I work in a major hospital and AIDS IS NOT A HOMOSEXUAL DISEASE. It does not care who you sleep with or how. AND despite new treatments it is STILL VERY MUCH A THREAT. So, please, please, whoever you are, take care of yourself and those you love.
