Hey,
Thanks for all the great responses.
It's good to confirm that I'm not mentally diseased after all!!!
And neither are y'all.
when a jw goes from door to door on a daily basis, they are called pioneers and it is a good thing.. it is an act of love when they share their knowledge with householders.. .
however, if that pioneer learns more about the watchtower society's beliefs when compared with the bible and tries to share that knowledge with current members he is attacking his brothers and sisters and is mentally diseased.. when he shares his knowledge about the watchtower society's involvement with the un and other political entities with the brothers and sisters it is called an act of hate.. in both instances, we have similar actions and motivations but the watchtower society comes to completely different conclusions.. does it have anything to do with control or is it related to something else?.
.

the only reason i am posting this is because i know many of you are going or will be going through something similar and wonder if it is worth it.
i personally feel that it is worth it regardless of what i lose.
my wife is backing me and i have my children.
"do you really believe the things you expressed? Do you not realize that Jehovah's spirit is working with this organization? How else can almost 8 million people have become worshipers of Jehovah in such a short time if not directed by Jehovah's spirit. What other religious organization has grown to the extent that J.W.'s have. Who else is following "The Way" as Jesus instructed? What other religious group is carrying out and fulfilling Matthew 24:14 & 28:19,20? None!!!"
Poor thing.

6 months or so ago, me and my wife decided we will never set foot again in a kingdom hall.
about 4 months earlier than that, i stumbled upon an article about the wts being associated with the un.
that got me into finding out ttat eventually.
Excellent!!!
I hope you get all of your family out.
They deserve better than what the Watchtower has to offer.
i always felt that circuit overseers always acted as if they were some type of celebrity at the hall.people damn near worshipped these people.
i always felt like we should worship god and not these people or the governing bodyw while i was still in.. this was probably my process of eventually leaving..
I have met one CO and his wife who I believe were Christians.
I lost track of them after I rejected the FDS but pray that they both are out.
my name may be a bit premature...because i'm actually still active within the org, but i guess you could say i've already "left" in my heart.
i'm just scared to take the first steps, because i don't know any "ex's" in my neck of the woods, and i'm very scared of loosing my family.
i just need someone to talk to.. .
Welcome TexasEX!
Feigning depression works pretty well when you feel you can't make it to a meeting.
JW's don't know how to cope with a JW who admits to being depressed.
My fade was based on depression, which I was every time I thought about going to the hall
and hearing crap about the faithful slave.
The UN thing was the last straw for me.
When I found out about that, I never attended another meeting.

secularist parent campaigners in scotland are trying to have schools religious assembly downgraded to opt-in - as it stands it is opt-out.
this means unless you want to separate your child from the rest of the class, they have to have the religious indoctrination - rock meet hard place.. some of the quoted parents remind me of jw's:.
I bet JW's would promote Watchtower Bible Study courses in every school on earth.

I posted a comment...
Why do Jehovah's Witnesses teach that all other Christian denominations are part of satan's world (November 15, 2004 Watchtower magazine)?
well first i want to thank everyone here for the good points etc... i have received over the last few months.
you guys have really been helpful!.
so the other day my mother wrote me a 3 page letter telling me how she was so scared for me because she could tell my love for the truth was gone etc.. so i decided i wanted to totally rip the band-aid off and get this matter over and done with.
Lets not let this mess up our relationship...
You have a lot of courage.
About 10 years ago when I left the JW's, one of my nonJW friends told me
he had read that it is nearly impossible for anyone to get out of high control religious groups.
Hopefully, your dad willl sway your mom and convince her that it would be counterproductive to shun you
since he most likely won't and she'll look like a villain if she upholds Jerhover's the GB's standards.
following a comment by sapphy on another thread on cultural jws, it got me thinking about my circle of 30 something jw friends.. they fall into roughly two groups.
couples without kids, couples with kids.. the couples without kids are the most interesting.
they're mainly career types, but with one foot firmly in jw land.
You said that your friend is highly intelligent.
I hope you don't get mad, but he doesn't sound very bright to me.
In fact, I doubt that he has ever used critical thinking when it comes to his beliefs.
I feel sorry for him in a way, but part of me just says, "He deserves the cult."
Just my 2.
