  Apostates, Hatred for the Org, leaving JWD

  yesterday i watched a thread grow so fast it was insane.

  that thread wasn?t about how bad the society was, it wasn?t about sex or drugs, it was what we thought could have been someone committing suicide, saying they had enough?life sucks and then....

  then today i read a second posting of someone who has done an exhaustive study on the postings found within jwd (actually only the tame ones that are from people leaning more pro org than against) and determined what a hate filled sack of pus this place is.

  Where were they when the brother giving the talk on R rated movies was sitting in the floor watching Aliens with me the night before, then denied it to my face when I asked him how he could be hypocritical?

  My ex always called two faced bastards like that 'spiritually mature'. If she only knew the facts instead of sticking her pretty little blonde head back in another Witch Tower magazine she would be free today.

  Most of us like the individual dubs and despise the Governing Body for killing them spiritually.

  JW at meetings vs. JW at social events

  have you noticed how jw switch modes depending on where they are?

  they seem a lot more 'normal' at social gatherings than while they are engaged in 'theocratic' activities.. it's like there's a spiritual switch that they turn on and off.

  They seemed to be happier at the social gatherings but it could have just been all the alcohol they consumed and then lied about later.

  i just got my hands on a copy of my book of bible stories ... (1978).

  at first i was excited when a friend pulled it out of his bag, said he'd gotten it as a kid.

  then i started flipping through, looking at the pictures, feeling the memories spin in my brain.

  Honesty

  You know, there are many people who come to this site and lurk that are still JW's. Do you really believe that your children are happy being JW's? Are you completely blind? They are not happy. You think they are because they are good little kids and love you more than life. They follow your bs rules and regulations because they want to make you happy. They say the words you want them to hear, they are horrified at the thought of making you sad.

  Wake up! Your children are suffering, and IT'S YOUR FAULT, just as it was mine.

  You know you're NOT a JW anymore when...(add some)

  you don't automatically wake up with a headache on sunday morning.... you no longer go around (while in field service) mentally deciding what home you'll "have" after armaggedon.... every item of clothing you buy as a woman is not first assessed for its modesty value.... you no longer worry about the 144,000 watching you have sex...:).

  when on holiday you don't have to find the nearest kingdom hall asap (remember brother and sisters you are not on holiday from jehovah!!!).

  being able to laugh about having a numb ass at the assemblies from sitting and the hilarity in having to tell people that you found the meeting "uplifting" when really you were fighting sleep the whole time.... you no longer have to avoid entire sections of music stores in order to make sure you don't pick up and "demonistic" vibes from backmasked cd's.

  chocolate candy reminds you of Easter Egg Hunts

  you actually enjoy making love without feeling guilty about what methods you used to please your partner

  i've taken a leaf from holly's book to thank your for having me on the forum - thirteen interesting days but came to realise one cannot achieve much speaking from behind a screen.

  people do not know who you really are, nor do you they.

  To those who are ex witnesses whose hearts may be recoverable. You may know by now that most of the 'information' posted to the forum is not true, and that it would be totally ludicrous if it were not so full of hopelessness, hatred and outright wickedness, and that reading it only deepens your despair. You also know that going to the Kingdom Hall and/or approaching the elders in the congregation of your choice will be the start of extricating yourself from whatever disastrous situation you have gotten yourself into The initiatives should come from you.

  I did extricate myself from spiritual death after I found out the Governing Body is behind the U.N. affiliation, Bulgaria and blood, alternative civil service (wait until some of the WWII era bros. who languished for years in federal prisons left with permanent felony records that affected employment opportunities find out about this; they may start WWIII and begin with the WTBTS), flip flops, blasphemy, etc. I DA'd from the evil organisation behind it all. As far as the elders in my congregation... they all know about the above scandals and are still lying their hypocritical asses off to the publishers on the phone, in person and from the platform all done in the name of God.

  I will keep praying that you find Christ and not the WT version of Him.

  My wife is joining, how do I keep her from leaving me?

  my wife is getting baptized on the 19th.

  there is nothing i can do or say to stop it.

  we have 3 children, and i am from a broken home, so i can't imagine divorcing.

  I would be as lenient as possible as a parent. Dont put pressure on them not to go to meetings. Your wife will put pressure on them to attend. JW life is all about pressure and blackmail and guilt tripping, so the less of that they get from you (while still being a good role model as a father) the more normal life will appeal. You have to concentrate on all the things that your individual kids might find appealing about the cult and make sure that they get all those needs doubly fulfilled at home with you and your non JW family

  Exactly my sentiments. Every JW kid I know in a split household who didn't get any pressure from the non-JW spouse is free now and every one that got the pressure is either at Bethel, pioneering or a MS or elder and you don't need that to deal with on top of the spouse being deceived by the book selling company.

  Article Allegedly Makes End of the World Predictions re 2034

  i saw someone post about a march 2005 wts publication making thinly veiled threats predictions about 'the end' coming in 2034. now i can't find the thread.

  i had heard some talk about this previously, but then was told it was a hoax....wts supposedly had not said anything about it.

  then i heard this week a publication just came out that does say it.

  i have long thought that a billboard campaign might be effective in reaching many jw's, especially those without a computer.

  imagine a large donation to jwd with the stipulation that it support a message billboard near every assembly hall and summer convention center.

  Someone posted that there was a billboard that only read 607 BCE???? and he recognized it was directed toward him, a JW. He automatically researched this issue... and left the dubs.

  i believe its effed up my life.

  no sports, no extracurricular activities, small amount of friends, and im like totally innocent compared to my friends i have now.

  theres this fat chick at work who wants to go with me, im like hell no to that. i wanna go with someone whos decent lookin, pretty, and fun, pretty much my ex gf.

  A little insight from someone who's been around the block more than I like to admit to (I wasn't always a dub):

  The 'Fat Chick' is probably more fun to be with and is a natural who isn't out to impress everyone with her bling bling and threads. High maintanance girls mean spending a lot of $ with little or no return, kinda like being a pioneer. Besides she can always lose weight if looks are so important to you even if it means gastric bypass surgery at $65,000+.

  How many Witnesses will there be in 20 years?

  we've often had the scripture "the little one will become a thousand, small one a mighty nation" applied to the modern-day organization...........often represented as an amazing fulfillment of bible prophecy.. actually anything with a growth rate will increase exponentially in time.

  (it's easy to figure out with natural logarithms).

  looking back at some previous years, there was some exceptional growth, resulting in large increases every ten years or less.
