Yeah, I think that's what Adolf was trying to do in WW2.
But he seemed to just hate everything. -

blondie -- Inquirer, you must need glasses. I tried to highlight this
Alert: Listeners and Readers: The UN was contacted and they say this is a HOAX!
inquirer -- Yeah, I saw that, but why would the UN necessarily tell you the truth? I reckon if some organization wanted to ban religion, I think they would want to go ahead with it.
The point is -- I am not suprised of anything anymore. It only took 3% of Germany to be taken over by the supressive Nazi regieme. What could we do about it if they wanted to ban religion? I think they would if they could. -

Getting your Congregation Record Destroyed
by rebel8 ina while back, there was a discussion about dfing and asking the elders to remove records of yourself ever having been a jw, publisher records, etc.
i responded that i didn?t believe there was a legal basis to force the records to be removed.
i can't find the thread and don't remember who started it....whoever you are, here's some interesting info for you!

rebel8, I think you are referring to me. I had a lot of "record topics" to start with.

Wow! Thanks for that, blondie. I don't remember this web site. But I reckon they'll go ahead with it oneday.
But what will happen to Bibles? Will they take that off me because it looks like I have an affinity with Christianity? :( -

Look, I don't know this guy. And I would think about it carefully. But, if he's a hardcore JW, I wouldn't bother with him, because they are really strange people to deal with. He shouldn't be dating you, really. I think it could cause friction between you and him and it cause a break up because of the JW people would gossip and then they would see you with him and it's potentially an ugly situation. I think the only way to deal with this situation, is to tell him you can't marry a JW because it would cause too many problems!
On the other hand, if he's open-minded (unfortunately not many of them are) I know not many of them are it might work out. With me, I am pretty reasonable. I am pretty tolerant of other people's thoughts on things. I did meet some JW's (it was rare) who could speak to about anything just about and still respect you as a human being. If he is hardcore, I would think very hard about this marrying him. He would always try to JW-ise you. And you would be "no-ing" him and... they just never leave you alone those people.
I hope you think about all I said. So many breakups in today's society.
I still believe in most JW theology, and I could marry someone that didn't share my beliefs and not give a toss about it. But most JW's can't do that. Hope he is one of those tolerant ones...
...Ask him what he thinks about "only marrying in the Lord?" That's an icebreaker! :D Such an important Scripture for a J-dub! -

They just ruin people's lifes -- no matter what church, no matter what religion. :(

Will the average age of Witnesses go up with time?
by JH in.
my parents go to a catholic church, and they say that the average age is in the 60's.. at the kh, the average age is about 30, if you calculate the age of the children too.. theoretically, the average age of witnesses should go up with time .
if less and less people become witnesses, the average age should go up, just like traditional religions....no?.

Yes, I believe the average age will go up. Not to change the topic but how do you imbed a portion of someone else?s post within your reply?
First, you highlight the post you want to copy, right click and copy it. After that you paste the text to the post window (the 5th button from the left on the top row of icons. To the right of the "copy" button). After that, higlight the newly pasted text and hit the "quote" button (the last button to the far right on the top row of icons. The button to the right of the smily face). That ought to do it.
As far as the topic goes, the average age will continue to go up if the JW's don't change their doctrines. However, I think that when the "old guard" at Bethel passes away, you'll probably see a loosening of rules and a more liberal religious atmosphere. It's either that or a slow death, and I think the JW's will choose compromise over death.
inquirer -- The Jehovah's Witnesses are a dying breed. They will never, ever, ever change their doctrines.... they fade away... Which is not a good thing. I always remember that Queen song "It's better to burn out than to fade away," because it looks more depressing. But heaps of people say this phrase. :D -

Are there any 'true' churches ?
by Qcmbr injust a question because of course we all either believed we were in the 'truth', are still in the 'truth' have left and found the 'truth', there is no 'truth' or that the only truth is found in the trailer park with a bottle of bud and a bunch of 'pozzies:)

I think it's all just prophecy. If some church had all the right doctrines, someone would go in there and mess it up and make it all invalid. That's what I think. I don't think there are any true churches. I wish there was, but that is clearly not so.

Leolaia, I'll get back to you on that one if I can.
I just be a strange bloke because I think most of those pseudopigrapha books are poor in quality. Even Jerome thought so.
