After reading many topics.. I'm confused. Is this a JW forum or an ANTI-JW?

i'm studying with a jehovah's witness and it makes quite a bit of sense but i've been reading many topics on here and it seems that i can find every christian denomination and every religion except jehovahs witnesses.

do any jw's actually browse here?

maybe i'm just getting unlucky and picking the wrong topics where everyones discussing about how they used to be jw's.

You are right when you said that the things they present make sense. There are things the Witnesses have gotten right (No trinity, no hell fire). But there are doctrines that appear correct or safe on the surface but become very dangerous if you probe deeper.

I gave up a career because 'the truth' sounded right. I'd be retired now with a pension and free, FREE Medical and Dental Care.

It's not what you see that you should be worried, it's what you can't see. Jehovah's Witnesses. Alot more that meets the eye.

I dont want to get D/A'd or D/F'd or be marked as bad association.

It doesn't really matter. You will be seen as bad association. It isn't what you do so much as how they decide to respond to your lack of meeting attendance. Yes you can use materialism or health issues as an excuse for awhile but there are still ones who will judge you as being misled by Satan.

One suggestion was to just miss a couple of meetings a month and then increase the time between attending. Use the 'I've been really busy lately but thanks for being concerned." excuse when the elders come up to you. Your real friends will stick with you. I just hope that they really are real friends. We weren't supprised when our so-called friends stopped coming by and started to act suspiciously uncomfortable when we were together. It will open your eyes so don't get too upset about it. Good Luck.

Yeah right. JDubs don't fear demons and such. They just fear words like "apostate" and "disfellowship" or how about "disassociate" See how they run when someone just mentioned such things. They've replaced one for the other.

Memories of the fine times. At the hall here there is a legal requirement to have a meeting of the local corporation. The PO, SO, and Secretary were the officers of this corporation. A motion would be made and seconded that these three would remain as officers of the local corporation. The congregation would then vote, majority rules. But they would also be required to ask for those opposed. I raised my hand and while I think I was the only one who opposed them, the wife of the then secretary (Now PO) just glared at me. If looks could kill. Too bad, no one ever asked me why I opposed them.

HOWEVER, I think it should be mandatory that any group that is actively trying to recruit others into their group, no matter what that group is (religious or not), should have to provide a written TRUTHFUL statement that covers EXACTLY what they believe, and EXACTLY what they expect from people who join their group.

While this is a sound argument and I agree with it, I also believe that it cannot be legislatively ruled on. The separation of church and state. WHO would read these 'truthful statements'. The WTS makes the rules defining what constitutes a Jehovah's Witness. How could someone outside the organization determine whether or not the statement is truthful.

Changing thoughts now.

The idea of hate crimes was mentioned. The way I was reading the posts indicated that the thought process was JW would be guilty of hate crimes if they continued the shunning. But could us apostates be charged with a hate crime by challenging WT policies? Could the WT try to go to the courts and whine that our activity consititutes a hate crime?

Scripturally we are simply asking them to defend their actions and statements.

1 Pet 3:15 How could this be considered a hate crime?

I didn't know that there were so many pro'active' Jehovah's Witnesses on this board.

People, grow up.

What Brenda did was therapy. How many posts have there been about the change in JW Blood procedures. How many posts of experiences when the dubs were at your door? Talking about the pedophile issues with a six or seven year old standing next to mom or grandma. Do you think this might cause that little girl or boy to have some type of anxiety attack?

Awhile back there was some postings of a person who recorded his judicial meetings and even went to video tape the final moments. This is not about us lowering ourselves to the JW mentality. It is about showing these idiots that people who leave the JW organization can and do see the problems associated with the organization. We are just showing the world what type of behavior the witness leaders require and the consequenses when those behaviours are not followed.

I applaude Brenda for what she did.

I walked out (very noisily) during one of the service meetings at the hall where I was attending. The following Sunday I was approached by the elder to whom I walked out on and he 'really' wanted to speak with me in private. I told him NO and if he wanted to discuss anything it could be discussed right where we stood. (The back of the hall was full of brothers and sisters) Needless to say he didn't get very far and they have left me alone. They know that I know the real truth. Even the CO is scared to speak to me.

The more these videos come out, the tighter the organization must become to protect itself. The tighter the more cult-like they will show themselves to be. They will isolate themselves from anyone who enters their halls, being afraid of cameras, recorders.

Answer me this. What would the JW community say if this board and all like it just ended? If all apostates would just tuck tail and stay away? Why they would say that it was Jehovah's doing and showing the world that the dubs were right all along. This would embolden them to continue advancing their spiritual agenda.

When they see this video and they will, they will just say that this shows how satan works and the persecution cards will come into play.

WT Leaders will play whatever card is best at the time.

I just like to mix the cards up every once in awhile. It keeps them guessing.

I'd love to see more videos. Not fake and rehearsed. Holding the camera when opening the door when REAL dubs are knocking and film their answer explaining how Jesus is not their mediator or how the holy spirit is present when child molesters are appointed as elders. Then we could read here on the board, the next BOE letter to be read to the congregations regarding how to react when cameras are present at the door. This could also be an Assembly or District Convention part with rehearsed reenactments and the 'how to' explanation 'when cameras are present'.

I've been asked to explain the Trinity...............

a jw friend of mine asked me what the trinity means to me and how i can use the bible to explain it.

why others think it is so important.. i understand that this could be a baiting technique to try to pull me into a debate, but in another aspect, i think she really could be wondering about it.

lately she has appeared a little disgruntled with the wts.

Go ahead and explain what you know to your friend. If you use phrases such as "Some people believe this way while others believe another way." This will keep you out of the direct line of fire from 'some' elders. You can simply state that you were explaining the trinity as some believe. You would never believe that yourself.

That Morning Drink

in the morning what drink do you first like?

(or need).... i find anything hot such as a tea/coffee or maybe even a hot choclate.

maybe its not necessarily the drink but more the time you allow yourself..

While I certainly enjoy a large cup of cream and sugar with my coffee I do make a fruit smoothie every so often.

I put a whole apple (seeds core and all) yogurt, maybe a banana, more frozen fruit, orange juice (or whatever juice I find) and a couple tablespoons of ground flax seed put it all in my vita-mix and whip up a great tasting breakfast.
