  During my two trips to Bethel in the early 90's. MR. Coffee

  their was this guy that we saw on the sidewalk yelling things at the witnesses that were walking by.

  they called him mr. coffee.

  rumor had it that the demons wouldnt leave him alone unless he did this everyday and that his wife was a reg.

  I remember Mr. Coffee! He would shout out at the top of his lungs over and over: BRAINWASHED! BRAINWASHED! BRAINWASHED!

  There was a freight elevator right outside of 124 that connected to the sidewalk. When it went down, it would disappear into the ground. I remember Mr. Coffee saying this: "And there they go into the depths of hell!"

  I thought he was hilarious. I think he is an ex-bethelite from the 50's..so that's what I hear.

  hi guys and gals....... .

  i would just like to extend greetings to all those poor souls who had to endure the torturous childhood of growing up in a strict jw lifestyle as i had.

  i didn't know that there were such forums on the net, and i was made aware of this by my sister who is also a member here, i believe.. i find this kind of funny really.

  Call Me Stupid But.... Who Is Ted Jaracz?

  i keep seeing that name and would love to know who in the heck he is/was.... was he part of the governing body at one time?

  is he in coc?

  i have only gotten 1/2 way through the book so far...

  There was a story going on at bethel that Jaracz hated women wearing pants and wanted all of the housekeepers to wear skirts even while they were at work. The other bros. had to talk him out of it, saving the sisters from having to kneel down in their skirts trying to clean the floor. I think this guy needs to wear a skirt and high heels for a day so he can learn some empathy.

  Teddy is the most influential GB member currently. He is nicknamed "The Boss" in inner circles. If you want to know what kind of personality he has, take a look at the traits of the org. It reflects who he is pretty closely

  Talked to a friend of mine...

  over the last week i have been telling a longtime friend of mine from my hometown about what i found.

  we were best friends all growing up and he had some real bad physical abuse probs in his house and so when he graduated he left the truth and has just recently started coming back.

  To get a good perspective on why there is no need for an organzation to act as a keeper of the truth I recommend the following book:

  The Catholic Church - A Short History....By Hans Kung

  Hans Kung is basically a catholic Ray Franz (He is even mentioned in COC towards the beginning). He held a high position in the church and had his own crisis of conscience which led to the writing of this book.

  You will note some incredible parallels with the WT. Basically, the catholic church went through the same thing the WT is going through now. History repeats itself.

  Oh..don't forget to count 3 hours service time for your phone call! hahaha.

  in the book of revelation, talking about things to come, babylone the great is to be destroyed, in one hour.. .

  some think that babylon the great symbolizes america, while others like the jw's say it's the false relgions that will be destroyed by the un.... .

  who do you think babylon the great represents?.

  I've actually been thinking about this recently.

  Without doing any cross referencing of other scriptures, trying to find other context where the word "harlot" is used in the Bible....

  Without trying too hard to interpret this using the original Hebrew, Greek terminology...

  Just purely reading Rev. 18, keeping it simple...

  All of the attributes and traits that she displays sure sounds like the U.S. to me. Especially with the fact that babylon and the U.S. were/are both world powers during their era and the social, cultural, financial influence they have/had over the rest of the world.

  I strongly felt this the last time I read this scripture after doing away with the WT filters

  Just my opinion though

  Why no Crisis of Conscience eBook pdf version?

  there has to be a lot of fading or questioning jw out there that want to read this book but are afraid of getting the hard copy because of fears of getting caught, mailing issues, etc.

  i think if this were available as an ebook, so many more ppl would be able to read it.

  it would make it so much easier for those who want to take a look at this discreetly and take the leap.

  This piece of work is too important to have it stopped being printed/distributed. We cant let that happen.

  Does anyone knows what happens legally to intellectual property once a book is no longer in print and the author has passed away? Does it become the ownership of the public domain and free to distribute?

  The pdf would be for the benefit of those currently sitting on the fence. It appears that those types of JW are growing with each passing day (I'm sure the JWD can take some credit for this as well). Even though anyone is free to purchase it in book form, many are reluctant to actively do something like that. It's a lot easier to right click and do a "Save target as..." on your PC. It's the convenience factor

  Those of us who have read the book already know, once you start reading you cant stop.

  Since he doesn't make a profit anyways, I'm sure he wouldn't mind a free pdf version distributed via the internet. In fact, he may even encourage it.
