  i always did love tv's and cars.

  i really don't know hom many tv's i bought in my life.......15 or 20?

  and cars also......i think i'm up to my 15th .

  Looking for some insight on why some people here do this

  i left the witness religion in 1997, and when i left i never turned back and do not even own or read any of their publications.

  i know it is wrong, beyond all doubt, so why waste my time at their meetings, conventions or assemblies.

  why read information that is known to be bias, hurtful and not very well thought out?

  I left 2 years ago after 28 years on the inside. To me it was all black and white. The world was wrong and the JW's were right. It wasn't till I left, crossed the line and looked back that I saw a whole different story. I think those who leave don't see the whole picture till they look back with different eyes as it were. You see things you never seen before. All of a sudden it doesn't look the same and you wonder, "Why didn't I see it". Maybe that's why some look and wonder, what locked me into this when it was so clear all along. Part of healing is trying to understand how one could have been so mislead.

  Are regular publishers more genuine in their dealings with others?

  having been in a few congregations, i have observed that those with nothing to prove are often the most genuine people.

  that is, brothers who aren't apointed seem to have more to say and are more interesting to talk to.. those who have position seem to have little to say other than repeat wt mantra.. with regular publishers, particualrly those who didn't reach out, i often found that they were just themselves, with no pretences.. is this something you have noticed?.

  my friend asked me last week, do weal publishers attract weak publishers?

  Looking back over 28 years all I saw was plastic people with plastic faces. They never seemed real at all.

  Do they respect gay rights?

  i am not gay and never have been one, but do you think that your local society treats gays with respect or that it has no tolerence for such a sexually different and in the thought of many deviant minority?

  .

  i personally don't approve of their activities but i can understand that they are genetically predisposed in that way and can't change.

  I think you are confusing gay rights with rights protected by the constitutuion. If you mean do people respect the gay lifestyle that's different than rights. We all have rights guaranteed under the constitution wether you are gay or straight.

  Anyone protesting anywhere? I'd like to do it once just to say I did it.

  You want to know something funny SYNERGY. I attended a DC wayback in the early 70's at San Francisco Cow Palace. While walking into the Convention were a small group of demonstrators holding signs etc. I just thought "How Sad those people were so misled".... I wasted a life time waiting to join them....

  i'm a 27 year old lesbian, that is very active within jw organization.

  i had a girlfriend for two years, but of course we couldn't see eye to eye on certain issues.

  after that relationship went up in flames i moved on.

  The Point of this Site?

  forgive me if i sound rude or this question has been answered elsewhere, as i am a neophyte and discovered your site through google in my religious studies.

  from reading the various posts it seems that this site serves nothing more than an iconoclastic purpose.

  was your experience as jw's so traumatic that now you can but put forth such effort to daemonize the religion?
