ok... i remember ( or at least what i recall..lol) how god had always dealt with people in the bible...kinda like there was 'proof' of him for all those thousands of years...right?

....well how come nothing in the last nearly two thousand years?

if there was a god how come he let the bible get distorted and let all these religions start?

I do know what you mean. I've felt that way before. But what I have found true for me is that He DOES reveal himself but not with water to wine or parting seas or lightning from heaven. He reveals Himself to those that search for him and it's on a one to one personal basis. I've truely looked for him and begged him to show me he was there. He finally did. I still have battles of faith but I really have a relationship with Him now and I don't know how I ever was a beleiver in the WT. I can see why so many leave it and become anti god and anti religion. I am in fact anti religion, and so is the church I go to. We don't have man made rules and we don't judge. We just congregate to praise God in prayer and song and fellowship with beleivers and other than that, it's between you and your creator what you do. I hope and pray that you will connect with Him and find that faith in Him that you're missing at this moment. Don't feel bad for ever having doubts either. Just press on and daily ask God to show you he's there...He Will, I Promise.

when my husband and i left the org back in sept. i felt that i had to tell my closest girl friend the reasons why we are no longer going to meetings.

we sat down with her while her husband was out of town and told her many things we had discovered.

so was so disturbed by this she couldnt wait for her husband to get home and share the "new light" with him.

What's sad and crazy is that while in the borg I had 90% of them memorized and I could tell you the numbers and titles. So like if the brother said we're going to sing song number 143 I'd know it was "Take Sides with Jehovah." I usually didn't have to read the song book either I just knew them all. Shows you what lovely home life I had if memorizing that was my entertianment.

if i have ever mentioned that i've seen the movies or read the books to a witness in gb, i get the kind of reaction that used to be reserved for smurfs here in america.. i am not naive enough to not understand any discomfort with a school for witches, but this stuff is about as threatening as casper the friendly ghost.

i find the books charming, if a little long winded and formulaic.

the movies, especially the later two, tighten up the plots and jettison a lot of excess baggage.

hehe, America is just as Hostile to Harry as GB I can assure you. I also wasn't allowed to watch Casper as a JW. My parents walked out of the movie My Little Pony when I was 6 because of the witch it had in it. Say Harry Potter to a dub in North Florida and they'll try to expell the demons from you.

I have an eight year old daughter and when she was 3 months old my dad would hit her if she fussed in a meeting. I had to forbid him from holding her in the meetings or he would hit her every chance he got. At 8 months old I had an elders wife offer to "take her off my hands for awhile" so I could participate in the WT study. Seconds after I get to my seat I hear "SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! WHAAAAAA!!!!" I ran to the second school and took my baby back. I was intimidated as to what to say to her because she was the PO's wife. Then at 10 months old my ex husband took her in the mens bathroom where I couldn't follow him in and beat the hell out of her for babbling as toddlers do. I grabbed an elder and told him he better go in and get my baby before I went in there or called the police. I can't believe I stayed married to that for 9 years! So glad I'm out. So glad my kids don't get beat anymore.

DUDE, You are FREAKIN' AMAZING! You did great in all your meetings. I am so excited that this is on the net and you shared your story with all of us. I am addicted to listenting to your JC's. Listening to these prove so much how uneducated, backwards assed, idiots the elders are. They ain't smart and they aint a wantin u to be smart neither! This is great.
