Terry,
So you are saying the prohibition in Acts for abstaining from "blood" is actually a prohibition against murder?
CYP
here is something hardly anybody is aware of.
it is an outright refutation of watchtower blood policies.
the rule against blood as we have come to know it through jehovah's witnesses is a bogus misrepresentation of already existing laws which the non-jews were under as far as jews were concerned.

it seems they can't research any of the scandals or misquotes, etc... not only because you may have to use apostate books or sites or even non apostate info but because the mere idea came from apostates.
how else you would you even think to look into the un, misquotes or any other of the numerous problems?
no need to confuse yourself with the truth.. still banging head against wall,.
Hey Auld,
They actively employ their brains toward being good drones and toward remaining drones. I did, too.
Well I disagree in the sense that you may have employed your brains, but only with thoughts that were given to by others.
Somehow you got one of yours in there somewhere that made the programmed thoughts fall apart.... abort? retry? fail?
Seems like the fat lady sang? Nah not for me. It sings for me on graduation day of my youngest. I will hold out for her since I have to protect my children anyway. If she is still a drone on that day, I will hand her papers. On that day I go back to living for me, and living my life the way I intended. Not the way I was misled into.
In a sense though I guess it has sung. Something has died for me, and that is my vision of what our marriage was or what I thought I was to her. I realize I am a paycheck, an emotional ego booster, a hard-on, a repairman, a father to both my children and children whom I did not father... but not a spiritual father.
I am not fit for that job because I think God's approval comes through faith in Christ rather than a publishing company. The elders can fill in for that while I am at work paying attention to all those irrelevant "non-spiritual things". That way she can not work and has time to pay attention to all those "spiritual things".
So as long as I fulfill those needs for her, everything is cool with her. How I feel about any of that is irrelevant unless it effects my ability to perform the above mentioned duties. Yeah the fat lady sang. I will give her the chance to start a new show, but on graduation day... lights out.

Why jw's can't research UN, etc..
Because they are brain-dead drones living in a self imposed prison.
They prefer chains of slavery because for whatever reason they provide comfort or familiarity. Sadly they resent those who do not choose to wear their chains, and in doing so they sacrifice relationships with those who actually cared about them and mattered.

My comment relates because all that you all talk about is people. The Governing body, the overseers, the Watchtower. You can't deal with the Bible itself. Reason: Because that requires faith which no one here has.
Irony.
Your faith is in PEOPLE!!! Your faith believes that salvation requires that you join with the right group of imperfect men. They are your mediator.
My faith is in Christ who alone is the mediator between men and God. I don't need to be "governed" by a "body" of flawed PEOPLE.
I have His word, His Son, and His Holy Spirit.

When they knock on your door, make some pleasant conversation and then tell them you need to step away for a bit...Come back with a large pitcher or bucket of water, swing it back, then swing it forward.... and let momentum do the rest.
FOr all those who take this approach or the guns or the pitbulls, could I just make one small request...
...please don't do it when my wife shows up with my 3 year old daughter

Now you will get hard if you have a moral bone in your body
I just figured six was being funny. I mean seriously, anyone who has read her stuff could totally imagine her saying this. She was either a hell cat in the sack, or really creepy. I am not sure which.

HA! Hey Cal....
Isn't it amazing how this subject comes up and instantly so many people just have a single person come to mind.
Amazing how taking on that new personality can make one so infamous.
CYP
Yeah I know one like that to Luna!
Wow Ms... that sounds just like some of the people I have met

I was always partial to the one She said that "in a rational world there can be no contradictions, so if you arrive at one, you must go back and Check_Your_Premises."
I also like one where she said that anytime we experience pain it is because there is something about the world we didn't understand. I don't know if I share her opinion that we have that much control over our lives, but it is a damn good quote nevertheless.
I love Ayn Rand. She really laid bare the moral failing of the Marxist paradigm with an intellectual rigorousness that I don't think has ever been matched. She was a bit off, and she did carry the myth of certainty such that she became a bit cultish. Those who disagreed with her were not wrong or of another opinion, they were simply evil.
A really cool bitch though. I wish I could have met her.
