  How does one become a JW???

  every source i've looked at is very vague and my witness friends just keep encouraging me to stop asking questions and come to meetings.

  my sense is, since i disagree so much with jw doctrine and the way it is presented in awake and especially watchtower that i'd never make it as a jw.

  still i am curious what the process is and what "tests" if any one must pass.. any info will be much appreciated.. thanks,.

  the following appeared in the newspaper this morning:.

  a 17-year-old highlands school student was in jail thursday on charges that he had developed a hit list, naming several fellow students he supposedly planned to kill.

  highlands police say they arrested andrew douglas quintero, a junior, without incident on wednesday and charged him with 10 misdemeanor counts of communicating threats.. in an interview thursday, highlands school principal jack brooks indicated he wasn't sure whether the student intended to carry out the threats, but said he wasn't taking any chances.. "whether this was done out of humor or it was an expression of anger, i had no idea," brooks said.

  A comment from outside the United States.

  To all who cry free speech, I live in a western democratic country but free speech is not seen the same as it is for you.

  For example, it is against the law here to make racial slurs, speak demeaningly to women, make unwanted innapropriate suggestions to members of the opposite sex.

  It may seem amazing to you all, but even though a couple of people bitch about the law, most people feel that it is a good thing and improves the Australian society.

  From our point of view, the only ones who would complain at the schools courageous actions would be the parents and the "do gooder" who always shows his head on tv for these things.

  Language Course for Sydney BBQ (Lesson 6)

  well, here it is, the final lesson in our language course to prepare us for this weekend's sydney bbq.. how ya been goin'?.

  there'll be time at the end of this lesson to review the full course.. today we're going to consider what to say to those experiencing emotional distress, or how to recognise it in someone you meet.. 1. the old man's shot through = my husband's left town.

  Ozzie,

  I found out one you missed by accident, I was talking with one of our opposite side of the world buddies and said I would be busy in the arvo.

  It never occured to me that we dont say afternoon and many dont know what an "arvo" is.

  Another time based one is "smoko"
  This usually refers to morning tea time, irrespective of whether or not you smoke.

  "knock off" is the time when work is finished for the day and is usually around the 5 o'clock mark, although it is often earlier on a Friday. This is because Friday is "poets" day.

  "Poets" day is "Piss off early, tomorrows Saturday"

  Hmmm.

  It appears that these WTS people are somewhat confused, it is they that have taken the bible principles and turned everything into a pharisaical religion.

  Rules and regulations and titles and rank and mind control methods to keep the rank and file in line.

  Its quite obviously the WTS and GB who are the apostates.

  Will You Make Room for Pioneering?

  regardless of scriptural implications, creating special categories of service such as colporteur, pioneer, special pioneer, etc.

  was a brilliant move.. the prestige, status and few little perks associated with those committing to being full-time workers is miniscule compensation for their sacrifice of time, lifestyle, income and educational opportunities.. yes, the hour requirements have dropped on several occasions.

  how many on the board know that the regular pioneer requirement was once 150 hours a month, then 1200 hours a year, than 1000, now 90-vacation/assembly time?.

  My wife and I regular pioneered together. I never got over my fear of witnessing no matter how many hours I put in. I did enjoy the conversations though, because of the gain in experience.

  It however fortunately for us it was the beginning of our escape from the borg. Why request and appoint regular pioneers when the territory is being covered every two weeks. I began to see through the scam.

  It is all behind me and I have never been so relieved. Even this alone is proof that the WTS is apostate. Jesus said "my yoke is kindly and my load is light", so if the WTS were true followers of Christ, then no one would feel such a weight being lifted from their shoulders upon leaving.
