No, I'm a work in progress, I look forward to the day when not one thought of the JWism will be in my head. It is hard because familys in, so they feel you are there project to get active again. I want to say stop telling me this stuff, I tell my very devout mom,"I'm on a sabbaticle from the religion," but dosen't phase her, I get the mags from her, the truth updates, the assembly dates, and oh yes the most holy gossip on the ones in the congregation.

Have you conquered the indoctrination?
by Frog insomething i?ve wanted to ask you all for a while.
had you 100% denounced jw doctrine to yourself at the time of your leaving the org?
i know many have said that specific issues prompted them to leave i.e., wt membership in the un, silent lambs/child molestation policy, malawi political party card issues, inconsistent changes in doctrine i.e., 1975/1914 generation not passing?new light begets old light begets new light etc.

How many Bible studies does it take before brainwashing sets in?
by hubert ini would like to know how the study starts...... what kind of information is given to the potential new convert when he / she starts studying with j.w.
's., lesson to lesson.. what is taught in the first few "lessons".. when the brainwashing starts to be taught.
how many lessons it takes to convince the student that the w.t.

Included in all this brainwashing is the fear factor and accountibity toward God once you know his will. You are expected to fall right in line with all that JWs have taught you from your own bible, but we insist accurate bible teaching come from the New World Translation. So put your bible away and use ours.

It is found in Matthew 16:26---For what benefit will it be to a man if he gains the whole world but forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

JW work situation
by pratt1 ini work for a rather large financial institution in nyc.
i run a large profit center and manage over 100 people.
on of my best workers is a dub doing a slow but progressive fade.

Shania
It is a nightmare working with that situation, take it from me I was there. But if you are responsible for these 2 employees and work is being affected, then you have to sit them down like children and let them know religion and work don't mix. So you need for them to be professional in their work areas and leave religion at home for 8 hours. My situation changed when the offending party moved up in the company, actually things were a little harder, but eventually they left the company.

Bullies
by Nancy Drake inhi ya'll.. i'm looking for advice on how to handle a neighborhood child that is bullying my son and other children in my apartment complex.
he is very mean, takes my son's stuff, tries to trip him on his bike by putting a stick into his spokes, pulling his underwear up, cussing at him.
at first i tried to talk to him nicely, asked him to please not do mean things to other children.

Would it be possible to call the police to put a "LOT OF SCARE IN HIM". Or if you personally knew a police officer as a friend and he could come over and put a little respectful fear into this bully? You know not only for you sons sake but also for future kids from being bullied by him. Just a thought.

KM School, Private "letters", Elders Mtgs, and your point is........?
by upside/down ini've never understood something... all the political elbowing for superiority and right to brow beat the flock and have a facade of respect due to and unearned, but rather siezed position and the wts can't fix it with all the "provisions from j"?.
i've been to km school, read the "letters" from "mother" and sat through endlessly boring bickerfests meetings.
all the old timers and the politically motivated and upwardly mobile kiss asses ms and elders are in such a tizzy to go to these so they can have "one up-manship" over the rest of the flock (apparently being "in the know" is very titilating).. i remember that most of the counsel from the wts seemed "good", especially that geared toward how ms and elders should conduct themselves and treat the flock.

I fully agree, it seemed like you guys were part of the boys club and no body could not get in because they didn't know the secret pass word.................my hubby hated it in the end. He said they steal your whole week-end just to rehash the old hash. He said "nobody is missing anything, it is so boring it is a struggle to sit there for two long boring days." Of course in his earlier days he viewed it as a privilege, but as time went on and things became clearer, he realized it was a waste of his week-end. Happy to say today he dosn't miss it a bit.

I just watch them take their vows----being faithful until death do we part----------I thought the audience was going to gag and say"YEAH RIGHT, THEY WEREN'T FAITHFUL TO START WITH WHY DO IT NOW'"
The whole church procession is so hypocritial, the queen looks totally disgusted but must put on the act. They do deserve each other-----------but stop throwing it in our face like they are so special..........................I'm sorry but, she looks and acts so low class, she has no buisness being in the royal family and I think that is how the Queen must view her.
