Most Elders can not explain the 1914 teachings.......just ask one, see them stumble over their words trying to look oh so smart...............very few know what they are teaching.............they need the book in front of them, word for word from the reasoning book...........

Is Field Service Going To Be The Key To The End Of The WatchTower Society?
by Honesty infor the past 6 months i have been speaking to church and youth groups in the surrounding area.
the topic has been how to show love to the jw's when they come to your door.
in the past, many of the people i talk with have been rude to the jw's.

Preparing for meetings
by daystar ini can recall from a very early age, that before just about every meeting, our family would be on edge while getting ready.
often some of the very worst of our personalities would show themselves.
we would argue and sometimes be downright verbally abusive with each other.

Man I could write a book about this......but I won't bore you all, you lived it just like us......anyway, we began to notice anytime we were on our way to the meetings, (it didn't matter which one) we were in bad moods going---------then we were happy campers on the way home, you all know the feeling, like when you were finally done field service and you were on your way home you were so happy it was over for another weekend.............how come we aren't that happy going???????????it makes one think is this the really the truth???????????????
And as far as eating dinner on meeting nights, you know brothers very few of you were able to eat, there was no time........home from work, shower, dress, look over meeting info, and leave early so you can run around the hall like a chicken with your head cut off.........what a crazy tread mill to be stuck on and we were.....................

Had the book study (Daniel book) tonight.
by ithinkisee inman, i had to read at the book study tonight (which is still at my house btw).. this was the first of the real "meat" of the daniel book (spam more like it, actually).. anyways, for those of you that don't know i am trying to get up the nerve to explain to my wife what i have been learning.
i found tonight was a good night to make some comments in a non-threatening "book study" environment that she (hopefully) will remember.. this weeks book study lesson is posted here, by the way:.

We know of an elder that is conducting out of the Daniel BK........he told us " I don't understand a thing about this book, but all I have to do is just sit there and let the rest teach me by their answers and all I have to do is say "yes, very good point, read the next parg. please," it is the best place to sit, to be the teacher of something you don't have a clue what it means............" So there are your Teachers........this brother wasn't even listening what was being said.....................keep up the fine work.

"College, oh no!" PT 1-New guy here
by theundecided2004 inhello everyone, i have been keeping up with posts on this board for about four years now, been a member for about one year but have never had the courage to make my first post.
so now i'm going to make that first step to get rid of that fear i had of betraying myself, and vent my experiences and frustrations with this faith.
i think this board will be a good way for me to make acquaintances of people with similar feelings that i have regarding the jehovah's witnesses, as well as a good outlet for my frustrations as a jw, and get some advice as to maybe getting a reasonable exit strategy in the near future.

DC 2005
by zack init was stressed time and again how the fds in the body of the gb are to be obeyed.
a speaker said the fds only gives suggestions/direction/guidance.
three minutes later he's saying that if we don't heed the "suggestions" offered by the gb, it is tantamount to disobeying almighty god.

Hey Zack, you are right on with your observation...............we are all like you, really paying attention to everything that is said, and red flags are going up constanly as we can't believe what we are hearing............we just accepted everything, but it is like a veil has been lifted and we can really see what the WT is all about. I will let you know very few clapped at wild statments that were made at the DC, that showed me alot in the audience did not agree with what was being said........they were actually making a statement by not applauding....................stick around you will be amazed at what you learn...................no man should follow another blindly, and that is what the WT wants it so called dumb sheep to do.................

Working on it, but it is hard to do after all that mind conditioning, you tend to always revert back to a JW reasoning, especially if you have family still in that are always trying to pull you back in.............so I guess we are a work in progress..............

Showey Display
by LouBelle inright so i have a younger cousin that works with me (helped him get a job with my company because in s.a you gotto pray you know someone who can help you get a job).

Prayer is a personal thing, whether a JW or not, alot of people pray for various reasons. If they choose to pray in public oh well it is up to them, only they know why they do it.........................I do remember my study conductor telling me "even if you eat a piece of candy, you should thank God". Now I think that is going beyond and above what is needed.

Lost our Kitty...
by jeanniebeanz inyou remember about a month ago i had asked you all for ideas on how to deliver johnny cats medication for hyper-thyroid issues (which worked beautifully, thank you!)..
well, it finally happened... we took johnny cat in to the vet because he was having seizures.
it scared the crap out of us when it happened.. when we got there, the vet told us he had lymphoma and it would only get worse rapidly.

Just read "1984" by George Orwell-------------now that certainly depicts what JWs life is and will be like in the future------------JW live that way now "only 4 fingers but are being told there is five over and over again.......................then the carrot--------------look out the window and see paradise...................JW are the people of 1984 who are being constanly watched........................this book was written back in 1949, I think George had some dealings with witness back then, by the way he writes about a perfect world.
