  i was cruising youtube last evening and came across this guy calling himself "the plastic apostate" i liked the way he presented himself and his message and i completely understand his wanting to remain undercover.

  i don't know how to post a link here or i would.

  if the person who is responsible for these videos post here or just lurks, i just want to say i admire your courage, and keep up the good work.

  Did any of you have "secret information" about the Society you used to tell

  i used to tell what i thought was secret information that i had heard from bethelites and c.o.

  's and long-time elders, things that i honestly believed.. here are two of them:.

  i used to say that ray franz was invited to brooklyn bethel for the funeral when fred franz died, since he is his nephew.

  Dear Bonafide, I never was close to any big heavy inside sources, but would occasionally hear such stories, and would swallow them hook line and sinker. I was "born in" third generation. Things started to change slowly in 1995-1996. I slowly started to see cracks in the watchtower walls. I started to see how everybody just accepted things because "we were suppose to be humble and submissive" and "wait on Jehovah". I like to think of it as sort of like a court case and some one you love like a family member is on trial. When the case first goes to trial, your sure your loved one, could never have done anything so bad, but slowly as the evidence begins to come out, it becomes more and more difficult not to accept. But when all emotion is laid aside, it's either true or false. I now see clearly, that the organization is just another deceptive trap, like a lot of others, to obscure the real truth. Just my thoughts. seek2find

  If you were DFd: How did you feel at first? (for my book project)

  i am starting to write a book about survival/recovery for exjws or questioning jws... i hope to have an impact on the jw community.. .

  in my first chapter, i discuss the negative effects of dfing and shunning.

  the wts presents dfing in a positive light and indicates that jws should feel no compassion for those that have turned their back on jehovah.

  It's been several months now and it's slowly getting easier, but I wake up at night a lot and wonder what will happen when I die. Will they have a funeral for me? All my family are still very much in and no one is thinking of leaving that I know of. Some days things seem OK others I'm very angry. But I think God is helping me cope. My desire is to do his will and stand up for what is right, and I'll give you a hint, It doesn't have anything to do with JWs or the Watchtower Society, sorry family, I'm NEVER coming back.   i think that it might be that they are going to make the 144,000 a symbolic number not a actual number.

  could it be making a new date for the start of the last days?.

  Hi Camero-d, in answer to your question, I believe that possibly a lot of groups along with the Watchtower make up a great "deluding influence" (NASB), that detract people from the real truth which is Salvation by grace and through Christ alone. Just my oppinion. seek2find

  Along with Sacolton's scripture I contribute the following: 2Th 2:11 "So God will send great deception upon them, and they will believe all these lies." (NLT) Things aren't likely to change much. I feel that a massive collapse of the organization may occur in our life times, I just hope and pray it's not as big or bigger than what happened to Jim Jones and his followers in 1978. seek2find

  MY PROJECT IS (FINALLY) FINISHED!

  for those of you who are interested, the project i've been working on for the last few months is finally finished.

  i originally did a thread about it back in april: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/156497/1.ashx.

  it seems that alot of us still have family members in the religion and have not infrequent arguments with them about some of the beliefs and practices.

  Count me in! My situation is like Paul spoke of at Philippians 3:8 and I agree wholeheartedly with his words. This is the message in the song by 3rd day called "Nothing Compares". If you're not familiar with it bring it up on youtube. It's great especially the live version. seek2find

  Dear VS, I'm glad to see your still reading. I have some advise for you. Go slow, but keep eyes and ears open. I'm in a situation similar to yours and have been for over 10 years. I'm a 3rd generation witness (Now ex-witness) I was recently disfellowshipped for apostasy just because I said to much in a private conversation and it lead to a JC hearing. Nothing else besides 100% loyalty is expected by the elders. Please don't lose faith in God. Some of the people who post here and other places on the internet have left belief in God all together. In my opinion, that is a big mistake. Please pray for help and support to do the right thing. I Hope the best for you, seek2find

  10/15/08 WT - (Finally) seeing the light on out of context quotes?

  in the 10/15/08 wt, page 16, there is a very small filler article on a 15th century german cardinal who used the name "jehovah" (or its equivalent in 15th century german, at least) in a sermon he wrote.

  sorry, no scanner.. anyway, part of that sermon he wrote, in which he references the name "jehovah", is quoted.

  I think what Blondie was saying, (correct me if I'm wrong Blondie) Was that the Society knew what was coming in internet technology and figured they better get something ready that would give their version of things that had mostly been covered up before. The strategy didn't work to good because they sanitized it so heavily, it left people wanting more, which they found once the internet took off. seek2find
