Please Share your Experiences of Abusive Judicial Committee Meetings
by flipper ini had noticed on the board recently of several posters mentioning what they , or someone they know has gone through being brought before a jehovah's witness judicial committee - so i thought it would be good to share experiences so we all can get an idea of what has worked for some of you in dealing with it , and also methods to use when dealing with the elders , and it might open some lurkers eyes to the injustices suffered by many - which by the way usually isn't discussed in the rank and file witnesses .
many of you know my experience - so i will be brief.
long story short i was inactive for 3 and a half years , scripturally free to remarry , had not attended meetings for that long.

Hi and Welcome! Well, here's another person that has been there. I was recently disfellowshipped after a 13 year struggle trying to decide what to do. What eventually got me was my refusal to acknowledge complete loyalty to the organization. So at 50 years old, and having spent all that time in the organization, I find myself on the outside. The family situation is rough and probably will be for some time. I'm trusting in God to help me readjust. I feel he's there for me and will see me through. Don't loose heart, others have been where you are. Don't give in. Stand for what you believe. I think you will be respected for it in the end. Read Crisis of Conscience, if you haven't done so already. Rays insight will help you see where the real problem lies. seek2find

Meeting schedule rearranged...WHY?
by sir82 inofficial speculation thread.... even if a reason is given for the meeting rearrangement when it is announced on 4/27, we all know how the society spins things (e.g., awake magazine being reduced to one issue per month to "put more emphasis on the bible" real reason.. .
so why is the society doing this?
on the surface, it seems to be a loosening of control.

Maybe with all the judicial problems and committee meetings, they are having trouble finding the time to handle the load of cases. Another free night would ease the problem some. There has been several disfellowshippings here recently. Your's truly (Me) being one. How many times in the past have we heard of how important the Book Study arrangement was? Now it's not? Why? If the lights getting brighter. Why is the bookstudy being eliminated, when it was held up so long as being a good arrangement? It will be interesting to see the response. I'm glad they threw me out, even tho I miss some of my old friends. seek2find

If only the PO can read the letter the Society doesn't trust the elders
by truthseeker infrom all the reports here, it seems that only the presiding overseer can read the letter re: book study change - the elders aren't even allowed to know about it until at the earliest, a few minutes before the sunday meeting.. doesn't this demonstrate lack of trust in the boe by the faithful and discreet slave?.
they must know about renegade elders posting here.. the presiding overseer is really just another elder who represents the boe..

Didn't I hear somewhere that the position of PO was soon going to be eliminated and then all elders were to be on an equal plane? Is that still in the works? maybe someone can post a link to the thread where it was discussed, if there is any interest. seek2find

WT June 15th Study Edition
by dozy ini havent seen any specific comments on the latest jw only watchtower (june 15th) so i offer the following brief notes to support what i perceive to be an increasing trend on obeying the fds & stressing the publications.. things from which we must free .
par 11: true christians have an obligation to warn members of babylon the great.
one way they do this is by distributing bibles & related literature published by the fds.

The emphasis seems to be more and more directed toward worship of the "Slave" In my recent judicial committee meeting it was stated among other things that We need to be completely loyal to the "Slave" and it's teachings. I'm sorry folks, complete loyalty for this guy is to the Master, Jesus Christ, and him only. seek2find

It's funny how many people "just don't feel well" on Saturday mornings. Or get up and look at the weather channel and say "it's just too cold today" and the excuse list goes on and on. If they do muster up the courage to go, sometimes it's this "I think I'll just do calls today" The question in my mind is if it's a life saving message, why all the excuses? If the neighbors house was on fire and they were asleep inside, would we make excuses? Maybe if the witnesses were preaching a real life saving message they would be more aggressive. I've often wonder how much JW's that are suppose to be in "Service" contribute to McDonald's or Starbucks profits. I'd bet it's significant. How about spreading the real Gospel message without all the pressure and hype and excuses. Jesus said that he was "the way and the truth and the life" Why not just tell others that simple message, along with some of the other messages in the Bible and forget the organized door to door effort that spreads a message that is subject to change with the next issue of the Watchtower? Makes more since to me. seek2find

One of the most common symptoms of MS is fatigue. Some people find it almost crippling. You can get so tired that you just collapse. Contrary to what another poster on this thread says, you may have MS. If you do, you may not get an accurate diagnoses until you have several more attacks. Some people go for 10 to 15 years and several attacks before the truth finally comes out. Don't be surprised if you wake up some day and can not see correctly. The optic nerve is a frequent place of attack. seek2find

Jeff: Reading this thread made me think about the book by Sheldon called "In his steps" In the book, a homeless man goes to several people in a town looking for a Job, home and help in general and gets none. He finaly goes to the Church on Sunday and stands up and confronts the audience and tells them off about not being like Jesus, which leads to the whole church or most of them living different lives. It's an interesting book and concept. The book was the founding place of the popular phrase "What would Jesus do" The book is available for free online. To me the poster would be more effective without the profanity, but still it make a valid point. seek2find Of the official "no longer a Jehovah's Witness" class
