Elders are the ''human resource'' workers of the Watchtower corporation!

here is a brother who really thinks that elders are there to help him after admitting that he cheated on his wife.

his conscience is bothering him to the point of letting elders know all the details of his affair.

( his affair should have been private, between himself and his wife ).

I am glad that immigrant brother who was the welder looked out for his own interest. Good for him! 👍🏻

There is No forgiveness for what we experienced and I’m grateful I didn’t succumb to peer pressure and hounding.. So what if I wasn’t invited to gatherings?? I’ll take Witness hatred any day because at least I planned for my Retirement.

Don’t forget that those older Witnesses (with cushy lives/good pensions) who pushed poverty for some young person aren’t EVEN around to help anybody today.. They either passed away OR have moved away.. I remember big brags and confident talk from people who are gone now.

The JW religion is filled with tragedies like this but the people suffer in silence because they don’t want to be heard to be bringing ‘reproach..” Then they would be shunned and not get any charitable contributions or menial work from ‘the brothers’. They are in a Catch-22 predicament.

It makes me angry that not only is there No accountability for what happened - but history is repeating itself yet again in 2020.

I would never have gone to an elder for anything - since I saw back then they were Company men.

They were behind the push to get me to quit a decent job, pursue poverty in the full time ministry and do favors for Users in the congregation! ..This is the bullshit that was held out for a single woman (which I rejected) and I despise their guts.

These hypocrites were collecting their pensions since THEY were once in the workforce supporting themselves well and planning for their future Retirement..So, why would I not have been as well?

Glad I never heeded their advice as they were certainly not looking out for MY best interest!

i have a friend named rich who i have known for over 40 years.

he was my brother's best friend for 35 years until 5 years ago.

they had a falling out and neither of them will tell me why they do not speak to each other.

I don’t blame you for being angry and wanting to back off. You were running around doing all this for him - and yet that’s not enough? He expects you to be on call 24/7.

This so-called friendship sounds like a trap. I’m sorry about his situation but if it were me I would make myself unavailable. I’m not interested in a job as a nursemaid.

At what point does the head quarters put out workers?

at what point does the jw head quarters put people out.

i know if they get pregnant and are not essential they are gone.

what about injuries, illness ect?.

From what I heard: people would be sent home permanently from bethel because of illness, age, serious infraction and if somebody didn’t like their attitude.

And, Yes, a ‘worldly’ employer at least usually gives some severance and the person has paid into Social Security!

We have heard of hundreds over the last two decades who were sent home - mostly because of age (55 ish) it would seem. Hopefully, they have gotten jobs from brothers with businesses and are ‘settled’ at this point. They may not be thrilled at their situation but I believe they are better off than those who are let-go years later.

As far as ‘pity’ jobs go, it’s possible some aren’t so capable and some brother is just tolerating them. [But, this just adds to the problem of people ALREADY in congregations who never prepared for Retirement!..And I’m GLAD I’m not around them.]

After what has already happened in all the bethels, anybody STILL at a bethel had better prepare and have a plan for when the letter is slipped under THEIR door! They can’t say they weren’t warned.

Also, because of halls being sold off - some ex-bethelites won’t have a physical congregation to go TO. It’s going to be very hard for any future bethelites who get kicked out - not only because of this but because of the generally bad economic condition in the country because of Covid.

Why not help 'the friends' with the wealth?

in the new testament, when funds were collected, they were distributed to all, not hoarded at hq (not that there was an hq).

of course now they're fraudulently taking credit for the government's free food program, but what about other things, unlike disaster relief, that don't get them publicity and credit?

When I was in the JW religion years back there was a ‘mixed message’ that people would be ‘helped’ or ‘taken care of’. But, I never once heard of anybody being directly helped by the religion itself.

Their answer to this problem was to go around discreetly targeting certain individuals with an envelope asking for money..Years ago I was approached and gave a little. The elder told me it was for a certain lady. I didn’t mind because she was a friend and a hardworking woman (not a leech). He came back at the next meeting saying she didn’t need the $ and wanted to give it back. I told him to put it in the contribution box.

The point I’m making is that it is unreasonable for anybody to think the people in the congregation are going to pay anybody’s major bills!..I could see maybe a bag of groceries.

This also doesn’t take into account somebody (like myself) who was criticized or shunned for having a full time job..This is why I am GLAD to not be in the religion now..This is what it has been reduced to: targeting people left and right for $$.

Never mind the Covid crisis making people needy!..The JWs were in trouble BEFORE this because of preaching against careers and having too many people at Retirement age without preparation!

I noticed that a lot if not all JWs I watch on FB now have private Freinds and photos

some have done it for a while but in the last couple of years most all of the jws from my old congregation and others i know have privatized the fb and other social pages.

i wonder if its just happenstance or if its come down from on high to shut this off to further keep them isolated from the apostates?.

Some JWs either deactivated their FB or changed settings.. I now only have FB friends who are relatives or friends from the old neighborhood before I got involved with the religion.

A brother who used FB to send a preachy PM advising me to look at the religion’s videos might have been surprised when I HAD looked at one.. I sent a politely worded PM of what I thought about all the asking for $$ when they told people not to get careers. Afterwards, his account looked to be deactivated. 🙄

Also noteworthy:..another JW must’ve had two lists of friends (probably those In and those Out) because my name wasn’t always visible on his Friends list..When I visited his profile and finally saw my name visible - I promptly unfriended him.

We are too far along in time that I would even care what these Witnesses (who were no more than acquaintances back in the day)..think about me or anything for that matter.

When he says people “dedicated their life to God”,..he’s not taking into account how lied to I was...The whole thing was misrepresented to me and I never would have gotten involved if anybody had been honest about everything.

It was so abusive..never mind faulty prophecy.. I couldn’t run fast enough.

Yeah, that changed scripture annoyed me to.

In fact, in the later years I was in the JW religion right before I started my ‘Fade’, I noticed they were trying to ‘elevate’ the elders.

Nobody in that religion got any ‘awe’ from me: whether it was some elder, pioneer or anybody who tried to pass themselves off as ‘anointed’.. Nothing I hate more than some fool trying to give themselves airs.

You Know You're A Jehovah's Witness When...

you know you're a jehovah's witness when.... being offered a scholarship to a good university is considered a bad thing.. when you see a house you like you claim it for after your god kills the owner.. you recieve spiritual guidence from a bus driver and a window washer.. you're engaged to a person you only met 3 months ago.. your widowed mother is marrying a man she met at the convention who she's known for 2 weeks.. there's jehovah's witnesses meeting in your house on a saturday morning to talk about going out knocking on doors on a saturday morning.. a lie in on a weekend happens about twice a year.. you dont talk to your own parents/children because they have a different opinion about a magazine.. you're not quite sure what you're supposed to believe anymore.. when someone criticizes your a magazine you feel like you're being attacked.. your 3yo son owns a suit.. if you're not married by the age of 30 you're considered to be gay or something wrong with you.. (for girls) if you havent married the first or second person you've dated you're considered promiscuous or something wrong with you.. you get your scientific knowledge from a magazine written by people who've never been to college and have never actually read the source they claim to be citing.. you get excited if there's a storm or natural disaster.. you get excited when there's a terrorist attack.. you get excited when there's a pandemic.. your version of tinder is the lunch break at a convention.. your girlfriend dresses like her grandmother.. your grandparents, despite being in the same religion as you, died believing totally a different belief system..

Years ago an older busybody sister made a similar remark about not getting a two-door car to me when I was shopping for another car. I told her something along the lines of: “If they agree to make my car payments..I’ll get any kind of car they want.”..

The mentality in the religion is that you should ‘expect’ trouble from people in the congregation (the excuse of ‘imperfection’ and all that) - AND you’re supposed to ‘take it’. I never had any business dealings with any so-called ‘brothers’ and avoided them like the plague.

And with what’s happened in the religion in the last two decades with studies being started with seriously dysfunctional people.. (so they can fill the empty seats in the hall)..I’m very GLAD I’m not there because I would see the handwriting on the wall.
