PEACEFUL PETE:
Yes, somebody’s father would have lived longer.
He saw much and got rid of the idealism of his youth!
i’m just curious about this dynamic i don’t care personally one way or the other but i do have friends who have chosen to be conservatives and they get totally destroyed on social media pages for their choice.
it’s almost like a lot of ex jw w become as toxic and his judgmental as jehovah’s witnesses themselves what’s up with that?
i also know conservative ex jw’s that can do the same so again i’m not leaning one way or the other i’m just noticing factual observations.

this information is supposed to be in the upcoming march wt.
(i don’t go on jw dot org).
it would sound like they are hinting at a change in thinking.. in my opinion, any such change would be yet another slap in the face to faithful pimis along with those other recent changes.. there are so many heartfelt responses on that thread and a lot of justified anger.. don’t know what to say except that i’m so glad i never listened to the religion all those years ago.
WING COMMANDER:
Great post!
LIAM:
I believe the article shows the religion wants to have it both ways. ‘Preach and don’t prepare for retirement/live in poverty’ and/or ‘Prepare for your Retirement but keep quiet about it’.. It’s called talking out of both sides of your mouth.
But, the fact is millions were adversely affected by following bum advice not to have careers or save for Retirement. There’s no getting around this.
I wonder if some people on the forum (either looking to stay in the religion or looking to go back) actually realize that there is No forgiveness for the religion (at least in my book).. Millions have been misled over the last century or so for planning their lives over what ended up being failed prophecies and suffering needlessly over faulty teachings based on men’s opinions!
All this makes me very Glad now that I was that ‘low hour publisher’ JW years ago who never followed their teachings.
like the one in tennessee, this one in maddison, wi, was done be a female.
the police chief points out that: .
“yes, i don’t know whether [the shooter] was transgender or not, and quite frankly, i don’t think that’s even important.
LIAM:
Yes, you keep telling the truth about the matter and ignore down voters and other individuals who don’t know what they are talking about!
I am also disturbed by what I read about censorship in the UK!!! Too bad.
As far as what goes on in communist countries: yes, they hate journalists and anybody who shines a spotlight on what is wrong with their regime! ..Naturally any mass murders would be quickly covered up…Got to put on a false face to the public and to the world! (I wonder who this sounds like?)

What is there to say except this information is too late for the multitudes of JWs (both in and out) who swallowed the ‘no career’ mantra hook line and sinker and criticized people like me who paid no attention.
I’m just sorry for all the many thousands (maybe millions) of ex-Witnesses all over who reached retirement age totally unprepared and are struggling now! 👎
it's that time of year again .
in the words of the bard ( noddy holder ) " it's christmaaas " .
merry christmas everybody .
JHINE:
Yes, it is that time of year. I always loved it.
Merry Christmas to everybody! 🎄🎁
yesterday was remembrance day/veterans days in canada.
we had a couple younger half wits in the cong in field service yesterday.
both are trying to climb the ladder with the entire elder body ready to die in the next 10 years.. i just of thought it was a dick move to go door to door about the merits of fighting for freedom or not fighting on such a sacred day.
NOT FORMER:
You said it and it cannot be stressed enough that the Witness religion is a “contrarian group that has issues with mainstream churches and government”.
They differ for the sake of being different, IMHO. They use excuses of ‘pagan’ when most other things in society are pagan.
In my case, I was raised Roman Catholic and in the beginning the JWs tried to isolate me from my non-JW friends and family.. I had my lightbulb moment one Thanksgiving weekend in the later years when I was all alone looking at four walls.. No JWs to be seen or heard (probably celebrating in secret). Meanwhile I was all alone like some fool. Even though this was one weekend in the year, it was indicative of how I was treated.. These Witnesses didn’t give a sh#t about me and I was already soft-shunned like Typhoid Mary over my full-time job.. So, what the hell was I doing?
So, I thought to myself that I could be having a great meal with my family who really cared about me... Instead, I was left feeling like I was fighting somebody’s private war like some nut in the mountains. I took stock of a lot of things… From that moment forward I privately marginalized the JW religion in my mind because I knew I had to get out of there.. I started to send out Holiday greeting cards to estranged family members.
Then the 1995 Generation teaching happened and it was truly over. I reconnected with my family (that those idiots tried to separate me from) before it was too late and I celebrate the Holidays even more appreciative than when I was a child.
Merry Christmas everyone!🎄
i couldn't get back to sleep last night, something my father said a few weeks ago popped into my head.. we were talking about obtaining citizenship, he doesn't need it, but was contemplating what benefits it could get him now he's a pensioner.. background : i've been disfellowhipped for 15 years, i was born in, he is an elder, very much pimi, he was also born in.. i said to him how citizenship would be difficult for him as it would require him to swear allegiance to the state?.
oh he said, thats just a crowd of people together in a big room for the swearing in event, it would be easy to just mumble or say nothing, nobody would know.. this has quietly been eating away in my mind, why did it bother me?.
last night it hit me, when i was in my first year of school, age 5, i came out of school one day with a balloon with two little pencils attached, a gift from a classmate who's birthday it was, every child got one.
SEA BREEZE:
I also believe people who defend the religion might have Stockholm Syndrome or suffer from Sunk Cost Fallacy.
This is why the older Witness die-hards there are ‘going down with the ship’. Well, let them. These are the people who shunned or tried to assassinate my character because I worked full-time back in the day. I was scoffed at to my face.. Thankfully, I held onto my job until retirement.
People making their way out of the Jehovah’s Witness religion today (especially at an older age) are facing the worst economy in decades. Even people with college degrees have problems finding suitable employment.. How much harder would it be for people climbing their way out of a hole??? I wish Good Luck for all those brave people everywhere!👍🏻
lets see if that causes a problem.
i've been inactive for a very long time now (like 10+ years), so, i don't expect to hear anything from it, but my parents are worried i'll get df.
lets see what happens.
BETH SARIM:
I believe the true purpose to get people not to celebrate holidays is to separate them from their non-Witness family and friends. The goal is to isolate them.
The pagan thing is just a convenient excuse. Besides, other things are pagan like days of the week, the calendar, etc. The religion is afraid if the Witness compares the loving treatment by their non-JW family versus the judgmental coldness they get in the Kingdom Hall they won’t want the JW religion anymore. I am sure some people have figured this out.
In my case, I happily reconnected with estranged family and relatives before it was too late. I am ever grateful for this.
how do jws major in minors?.
by the way, jws aren't the only ones.. .
RILEY:
I consider the OP a little vague.
But, regarding your post it is really sad that those singles have only other Jehovah’s Witness to hang out with! In the real world this group would not be thrown together.
It is very unhealthy and stifling that JWs don’t bother with any other groups. (Is this majoring in a minor thing?) As someone not raised in the JWs I thought they were peculiar.
And a 9 year old is a child and should be with children in a similar age range. The most disturbing thing in your post is the 48 year old who never worked a day in his life. Not as uncommon as you might think in the JW religion - ‘mental issues’ or not. You don’t mention if this person is supported by their family. I would assume so.
All in all it’s an unhealthy situation.
lets see if that causes a problem.

STEPHANE LALIBERTE:
Good for you putting up Christmas lights…I am a long-time ‘Fader’ and I don’t care who sees that I now celebrate the Holidays (again).. I wasn’t raised a JW and always loved Christmas.
RON W:
Yeah it really is an abominable religion that won’t leave people in peace.. If any old JW busybodies stumble upon my FB page they will see undeniable proof that I’m into the Christmas spirit.. After all these years, I am well past caring what those miserable people think.
