do you follow the arrangement dictated by the governing body of jw's regarding df'd and da'd individuals?
do you shun the jw's like you are expected to by wt leaders or do you speak to jw's and greet them with a smile even if they shun you when you do so?
in complying with wtbts rules of acceptable behavior for da'd or df'd persons do you think that you are showing unconditional love to your neighbor?

one of the characters in the book made the statement something like this (may not be exact) " you can't tell men everything...there are some things that men should not know... they are like children...they can't handle certain information....there are things in life that is women's work" That statement is so true.
it happened one year ago today.
june 4, 2004. they say these things take time and that recovery gets easier as time goes on, and i suppose that's true.
but then again, some things leave a hole in your heart that will never go away.

its only been just over a year since i stopped beliesving that jehovah would solve all my problems, but evan now i tend have a small feel that something will come along that will get me out of any situation.
I've been unemployed for a few months and i had just ran out of money in fact i was down to my last dollar and didnt know what i was going to do...and then a job called and i got hired...
it's like when i'm on my last leg and i think i'm going to fall something happens and i'm able to keep going. it's like you have to ride the wave until you come to shore....

i remember in the kh i went to there was always at least one desperate singleton who would sniff around the single women particularly the ones which were his own age...he was mid 40s i seem to believe...never had a girlfriend and would have married anybody who wouldve had him.
there was no real harm in him...just lonely i expect but i think he made most women skwirm.. what about you...did your hall have its own resident 'single sister stalker'?
I hated when sisters would fawn all over one man....it was like 50 or more sisters after one brother..they would really make complete fools of themselves, then when he decides on a sister to date the rest attack like dogs. they do everything in their power to undermine the relationship. I have yet to see one marriage that somebody didnt have something negative to say. unless it was two people that no one wanted.
i couldn't stand all the titles and categories they had!
i felt they were hooked on respect which maybe in some cases bordered on adulation.
i had a problem with this because i always saw it as unchristlike.
especially elder families. it was always "my father's an elder so blah blah blah" or "my husband is an elder so blah blah blah"
it's like if you have an elder in your family you got the inside track.. and you do

The Wts often use the example of a christian as a runner in a race.
when i think about it...how often do you see a runner stop to help another runner who has fallen? ...basically a runner just keeps running and the only focus is the finish line.
Jw's attention is on getting to the "new system" it's hard to show love when your mind is on surviving. It only creates a competive paranoid environment much like the reality tv show survivor.
whenever elders hear the complaint from someone that "they never get shepherded or visited by the brothers" do you know what they do when you walk away?.
they look at each other and roll their eyes.
they make comments along the lines of "great.

i was listening to this minister and he gave the example of these men that was carrying this crippled man around and they wanted him to get in to hear Jesus but the house was crowded but this man circle of friends went to great lengths to get him in even tearing a hole in the roof of the house...he said if someone in your circle is down and discouraged and doesnt want to come to church for you to go to the person's house and encourage them, if the person still doesnt want to come... to bring your bible and gather there and read God's word and do that until the person is ready to come back. He admitted to not being able to see after every single person in the church but instead encouraged those to create circles of friends. That made more sense to me

The so called "friends" were at my home monthly if not weekly eating my food, drinking my expensive alcohol wearing my furniture out, asking for favors...where are they now? when my husband left...i did not get one phone call or visit from anyone saying...how are you? do you need anything? is there anything i can do to help? yet these were the same people we took in when they were desperate. Even ones who had been disfellowshipped...i didnt turn my back...i listened...i cried with them through their pain. I got one phone call from a person who WAS NOT a jw and she asked me if i was ok and did i need anything. I see these same people on the street and they act like they never knew me. sometimes i just want to spit in their face. I called the elders but they didnt have anything to say... then when everything hit the fan and was over the elders wanted to talk to see what sins had been committed. And as for the so called "sisters" the same ones that ate at my house and smiled in my face were trying to date my ex before we were even divorced. One in particular wanted items out of our apartment.
