i posted on the board in the past about the first incident.. but we decided to work on it since she seemed genuinely remorseful... it is hard to beleive now that she abandoned all her morals, her religion, family and friends to persue this pipe dream..... it all started out like this.
but i guess the little things like that meant nothing.

You know it's crazy to take advice from strangers who know only a few paragraphs from your story, but based on that alone, my opinion is that you CAN do MUCH better. You know that you have to let her go.
You're young, smart and you seem like fun. You've got a bad patch ahead, but keep telling yourself that you'll get through. The one day you'll realise you are.
my biological family has been shunning me ever since i daed back in 1998.. my mom opened by saying that she's been thinking about me lately and then we chatted a bit to catch up on news.
i told her about my toilet training my two cats, my recent nose surgery, my running and how things are going well at work.
she told me about how my dad had a medical issue come up in july and how it was treated.. normally my biological family will only contact me when someone dies.
Hey bro, it's good that she called, it's hard too though. Who can ever tell what's going through their minds? Who can decide whether it would be better to have them back or to know that you'll never hear from them again?

I have this theory that in any population there will be a ratio of loons, and this is a big board so there are a few around. I tend not to read their stuff.
after being raised as a jw, my dad was df'd for the 2nd time in 1994. that year he lost a wife, 3 children, mother and brother, as well as every friend he had made throughout his 40 years of life.
over the years my sister and i gradually started contacting him, but never had a real father/daughter relationship.
a few years ago, during my divorce, he and i sat down and started discussing his feelings.
Please give you dad my deepest thanks. Partly because if my dad could take off the blinders, that's exactly what he'd say.
ok so here goes...ive fallen for a guy, who seems perfect for me, everything ive ever wanted in a man, kind, sensitive, caring and reliable.
only problem is, he is not a jw and i sort of am, sort of meaning, i was brought up in the truth i have gone through rebelious stages and just passed them off as wanting to experience, i nearly married a jw but the night before the wedding he called it off and said he wasnt ready (we had sleot with each other beforehand, so he prob didnt see the point in going ahead anymore!

Hi mate, I wondered what happened to you. I'm glad you're going to live your own life. Don't kid yourself, there are going to be some bad times. I hope that this man will have your back through them. Don't be afraid to make him understand exactly what you've put behind you, but don't pretend that you did it for him - you know that it was about your own life.
Don't stop growing and looking for things you like to do.
this is just something that really peed me off regarding the elders, is how low they are sinking to get gossip and stuff now, i was in contact with a well trusted friend of mine who used to attend meetings up until 2 years ago, his wife is still in the jw org, he was having a joke around on some text messages with me regarding my man saying "try before you buy" and so on, which i found amusing....lets just say his wife didnt...she snooped on his phone, wrote out the texts he had sent me and gave the transcript to the elders, and now he has to go before a judicial commitee.
how wrong is that, for a start its an invasion of privacy!

To be honest I think that his wife is the bigger problem - she's probably jealous that there's a woman he's sending naughty sms to.

i refused to give a bible study to some kid.
i figured that many tried and didn't succeed.. i also didn't feel ready for that, nor did i want to drag him to each meeting after that, since he had no family in the org.
the elders weren't happy with my decision.. bottom line, you can't say no, without any consequences..

talking to a friend (ex-elder) today whose wife was (is) a close friend of mine .
she's still a jdub but won't talk to me now i'm df'd (apparently it hit her very hard when we left) and so she busied herself with ministry and meetings in search of comfort and affirmation of her faith.
this didn't work for her and she came out with an unexpected question... .
That's the best argument my brother could come up with too, and he's an elder.
