I believe there are what you call "undercover elders" that think they can make changes happen on the inside. I think those who believe that are delusional and are wasting their lives away.

had a really interesting experience i thought some here might like to hear about.

my jw ex-wife and i still own a house together, (she lives in it and a non-jw adult son is living there with her temporarily), not to mention the three kids and seven grandkids we share, so we interact quite a bit, e-mailing, calling or seeing each other a few times a week or so.

i'm still doing some remodeling to our house.

i would say a large majority here can relate to suicide.

at what point did you just gulp it all up and started all over?

for me it was when i learned that i've lost my family completely, or i would've had to become a complete hypocrite to return to a lie.

i started to put this in the great thread here on weirdos in your hall which i have so enjoyed, but there was a bit more story to it.

there a pitiful little hunchback young man of about 25 that was soooooo introverted it was really sad.

so he calls my house to speak to my elder dad, and i answer the phone.....unfortunately, at 15, i sounded a lot like my dad, and as soon as i said "hello" he blurts out...."brother oompa, i just wanted you to know i have gotten rid of all my pornography, and am going to really try to work in harmony with my prayers to stop masturbating.

my daughter is a talented cartoonist and makes the funniest sketches.

way too much irony for a 16 yo!

she isn't technically proficient exactly, but she captures a mood so well that i halfway think if she were 'better' it might ruin the charm.

Don't make it an excuse not to give praise when it is earned. My mum starved us all of praise as if a compliment from her was some kind of precious gift. I just came to think of her as impossible to please and gave up trying.

They interpret it as a personal snub. We are putting them in a position to shun us, therefore it seems that we don't care about them. They can't see it the other way around because that would mean that it's wrong for them to shun us, which means that the witnesses are wrong, which means they've made a huge fool of themselves. No, that can't be true - we have rejected THEIR GOD and we are therefore rejecting them, and we knew it when we made the decision to leave or do whatever got us booted.

Update on last nights dinner.

thanks to everyone for thre good advice i got for last night.. however omg, the husband is more of an apostate than i am!!!!!!

it didn't take long for the conversation to get round to religion brought up by themselves and they really let flow.

how unhappy they were with a lot of the teachings, how it was a manmade org, and they were only in it because they wanted to serve jehovah and jesus, and he sounded like one of us talking when he listed the research he had done on the dates, generation, paedophiles, gb, boe and everything else we question.
