  good morning and "happy sunday everyone!!.

  yesterday our family (grandparents, grandkids, aunts, uncles) all went for a two hour drive for a picnic and all day fossil dig.

  (sorry, i cannot tell you where, as it would probably reviel who i am to the trolls on this forum.

  I've been studying with JW's for a few months..

  i've been studying with the jw's for a few months and i've attended a few meetings but things are feeling somewhat strange...i don't quite get the jist of things but i feel that i'm learning more of what the watchtower teachers and less of what the bible actually says.. i never open my bible.. i'm always reading the watchtower pamphlets.

  i really like the people i've met in the congregation and the guy thats been doing the studies with me has been an awesome friend.. .

  but i'm just having some issues.. i mean.. they translated their own bible to suit their own doctrines it seems.

  Keep your mind open. You'll settle into something that makes you comfortable, that's all that matters. Every human alive just believes the particular combination of things that appeals to them the most.

  Why would a loving god permit eternal torment? it's illogical and hateful

  I personally don't understand why a loving god would murder children for calling an old guy a "baldhead" either.

  for me it's the friendships i have made with people that would have been considered too wordly to be friends with while i was still a jw.

  leaving behind the guilt of never been good enough or doing enough.

  celebrating the birthday of my precious children making them feel like king and queen for the day.

  jehovah's witness parents of sextuplets suffer another legal loss.. jun, 19 2007 - 2:30 pm.

  vancouver/cknw - another legal loss for the jehovahs witness parents of sextuplets born in vancouver earlier this year.. the couple is taking the bc government to court over a decision to seize the children in order to perform blood transfusions, something doctors felt medically necessary, but forbidden by the family's religion.. the bc court of appeal has upheld an earlier decision, in which the court ruled lawyers for the parents could not cross examine doctors on affidavits explaining why they felt the transfusions were required.. when it goes to trial, the parents' lawyers will argue doctors ignored alternate treatments which would have negated the need for the babies to receive blood.

  What does the company think they'll get out of this? They can't believe that they'll get the precedent they want, by suing doctors for taking action that was intended to save a babies life, surely? It obviously hasn't occurred to them that every time this is in the press, the public doesn't start thinking: "those courageous JWs, there they are again upholding religious rights", they just keep thinking: "those insane fundie freaks, they're angry that a doctor tried to save their babies."

  On average, how many non-JW/Invitees did you see at KHs on Sundays?

  i was thinking about my 1 and only visit to a sunday "service" as an invite, to a kh a few years back.. it never dawned on me til now, but we showed up in collar shirt & slacks / casual dress, and immediately felt way under dressed (& uncomfortable due to that).

  and now i think that relatively, there's probably not a lot of new faces that are seen in these small congregations, and although i felt like i was initially just going to another "church service"...i really wasn't, was i?.

  now i'm thinking that silently, everyone was probably so tuned into my wife, my daugther and i when we showed up and throughout the service.

  Towards the end of my game, I'd say obviously weird things to new interests, just to wise them up to how weird everything is. It worked on at least one lady who left wide-eyed. It didn't happen a lot though. I don't recall a high proportion of baptisms being from the field.

  You just keep being a great hubby. You make her adore you so madly, she'll grow out of the whole JW thing.

  No more questions came from her. I actually hope she speaks to my mother, but I am almost certain
  she won't.

  Good reply. She must know by now that you're only not talking about it because she doesn't want to talk about it. Go with that. Talk about lots of other fun stuff. And buy her some damn flowers.

  and that is one good reason to back off some.

  but the overriding reason is that my nerves have been frayed lately by the actions of a hidden 'stalker', a jw who is hiding behind a cyber-curtain.
