Did anyone else get a huge all caps URGENT MESSAGE showing at the top of your screen where sometimes ads are? The words were so big, it jumped out at me and it was weird. I did not click on it, and hope it's not a virus or something.

I was SO embarrassed when I was a teenager and for many years before I healed from leaving. Now I actually enjoy telling my story to people who I know are not witnesses, and a lot of people ask questions and find it interesting. I always warn people of how destructive the religious cult is and how it breaks up families.

Fat Girls Guide to Life book
by love2Bworldly inanyone read the "fat girl's guide to life"?
i am reading it right now and finding it pretty interesting.
it makes me think outside the box a little bit about how much money is spent on products for people to lose weight, and how much money saturates the market and influences so much of the media.. the author's attitude is one i try to have-- exercise, be balanced in eating habits, drink water, take nutrition supplements, and don't obsess over dieting & what the scale says or about other people's judgements toward my weight.. right now, i already know why i am overweight-- i am eating to deal with my bipolar issues.

Right now, I already know why I am overweight-- I am eating to deal with my bipolar issues. Hopefully my new therapist will help me get back on track since I had a hospitalization & bad meltdown in October-- it caused me to gain back 15 pounds it took me over a year to lose. I am a bit sad that I did that to my body.

Wow, they make it sound so scary, that's one of the things I remember most about my time in Jdumb land is how they made the outside world look so scary. At the time, I didn't know sexual abuse was unreported & happening all over the place, and I just wasn't in a right state of mind to realize how sick & hypocritical everyone was.

So done with expectations and waiting for 'when it happens'...
by Bruja-del-Sol inok, i haven't introduced myself properly.
sorry for that, but i just never feel like i've got something really interesting to say.

Thank you for sharing. It's great that you are married to the love of your life, but women do need to have a social support system I think more than men do. I think you do need to take Spanish classes or maybe online classes to learn the language where you live so you can communicate better.
Are there any hobbies or classes you can take where you would meet other ladies with similar interests? Or maybe volunteer work? I've never been to Spain but I hear it's beautiful.
Easier said than done, but try to enjoy each day for what it is. My husband is a life coach and I used to belong to a Unity church, and pretty much have been taught since leaving the JDumbs that it's in the palm of my hand to be rich/wealthy/prosperous etc etc. But now I am looking around my home & my life and realizing how damn lucky I am right now in this moment, even living with bipolar disease. I have plenty of food to eat, a nice home, a job I enjoy making good money & benefits, a spouse who truly loves me, and mild weather (no tornadoes or disasters etc)., and my 3 grown children are all doing well & happy. I suffer from severe depression at times, but what really gets me through the hard times is being able to talk to other women.
I also joined Toastmasters this year which is an international group. Maybe you should try it? It's fun, you not just give speeches but have responsibilities every week. You would be interacting with people, and it would force you to use Spanish. Just a thought?

I wish you the best of luck on your move & new jobs! Sounds like a great way to start a new life.
When I cold-turkey quit going to meetings after 9 years of being a good little JW who never missed a meeting, I had one friend who called to check on me after a month, and 1 other friend who hysterically called me because her elder father gave her a heads up that I was in trouble. No one stopped by, and no other phone calls, that was it. I wasn't surprised, since I wasn't in the "in" crowd.

Christmas is WRONG!
by thesaint inyou all should be ashamed of your egotistical selves.
how can you leave god's organization to celebrate the work of satan the devil?
it just goes to show you how jehovah's christian witnesses are correct about how persons will leave the truth for their own selfish desires.. first off, christmas is a pagan holiday and it proves no spirit with the almighty jehovah and his son, the christ.

If Christmas is so wrong and the Watchtower Society is so right, why aren't you "obeying" their commands to stay away from apostates?
You are spending a lot of time on this site that could be spent preaching door to door. I hope one day your eyes will be opened to the real truth.

Welcome! It takes a while, but it will get easier with time. Just be careful how you deal with your family. Some good old therapy might not be a bad idea either if you can to undo some of the cult thinking. Lots of reading too, such as Crisis of Conscience.
Wish you much luck on your self discovery journey
