Sticking to the topic--hi RR--you feel like a younger brother to me, even though I'm old enough to be your mom. I enjoy your humor.

Attracted to a Jehovah Witness
by AJNG99 ini am new to this board.
i am not sure where to post this, so i'll give this place a try.
don't ask how i stumbled across this board.

Welcome to the board--most of us nice people here on this forum are former JWs, as JWs are taught to stay away from the Internet and the terrible 'Apostates' who post supposedly false information about the witnesses.
If you want to set yourself up for a lot of heartache and pain, go ahead and date the Witness. But know what you are in for: if the Witness becomes inactive, he will wrestle the rest of his life on whether the Watchtower Society really teaches the 'Truth' of the Bible; if you have a child together--his guilt over the impending death of his child due to Jehovah deeming him as an evil 'worldly' person, that guilt will probably send him back to the Kingdom Hall so he can brainwash your child to that religion; if you are not converted over also--the elders in the JWs will teach your spouse that the religion will always always come before your marriage and you, and you will be negatively referred to as the 'unbelieving mate' that he will try forever to convert. As your child grows up if he/she becomes a JW--they will be taught that you are the 'unbelieving' parent, and if you and/or your spouse are a JW and are kicked out of the religion, that child is brainwashed to shun you and treat you as dead.
How's that for starters?

Are You For or Against The Death Penalty?
by minimus inpersonally, i have nothing against executing wanton murderers.
-
love2Bworldly
Well I am not against the death penalty. But my issue is, how do the persons who have to carry out the sentence, the ones who pull the switch or give the injection or whatever, how do these people deal with the fact that their job is to kill people?
That is my only concern. I could care less about the person's life who has taken away other people's lives, I'm talking about serial killers and evil people; I'm not talking about self-defense or accidents or those type of situations.

I hate it when people assign bad motives to me, always thinking I'm doing something for an ulterior or selfish motive. My dad and one of my sisters does it to me all the time. Example: my 87 year old dad had his license taken away because it is very unsafe for him to drive and his car has scratches all over it to prove it; my sister thinks I wanted his old beat-up van so bad that I wanted him to flunk his test; I wanted him to flunk his driving test so he wouldn't kill himself or someone else on the road. Pisses me off when people think badly of me because I'm a pretty decent person.

Cats a JW no-no?
by Confession ini stumbled across what appears to be a website maintained by a jw circuit overseer.
on it he includes what looks like a question from readers.
it has very strong things to say about the 'beastliness' of cats--and why christians should consider whether or not it is proper to have them in our homes.

JW are such Liars
by Es inmy friend told me today that she had passed on to her friend my story bout being a jw and how now i dont have any support since leaving the borg mainly coz im marrying a "worldy" person and how my parents dont really have alot to do with me now.
anyway jw's came to this ladies door this week and she plainly stated that she is not interested but they kept hounding and so she said im not interested in a religion that can shun family members for not marrying in your religion, or not believing in the same thing, thats not what a loving god does.
so these jw said "oh you must have the wrong religion we dont do those things"!!!

In short, the JW religion is a Mercury-Teflon Political Organization in which the rank and file are taught and trained in all the tricks of the trade.

Welcome Glad your spouse has made the exit with you. Marriages with one JW sound like a terrible way to live.

The Jehovah's Witnesses Reformation Movement
by Kenneson ini made an interesting find last evening.
i stumbled across a site purporting to be a jehovah's witness reform movement.
while it sees value in jehovah's witnesses, its primary purpose is to reform the governing body.

You can't reform a turd...you gotta bury it so the stink goes away!

Some of you guys really crack me up.
I want to donate my organs and the rest of me can go to science experiments. My family can have a small memorial service with lots of pictures up, and tell stories about me. I don't care if it's a small group as long as my kids are there and hopefully think I was a great mom.
I hope I live to be really old for my kids' sakes. They don't have contact with their loser fathers.

Reasons to make you leave a spouse/partner
by greendawn inwhat would it take for you to break up a relationship with someone you really love?
would it be physical abuse, refusing to go out and work, abuse of child, or whatever else?
-
love2Bworldly
- Adultery.
- Physical/verbal abuse.
- Alcohol/drug/food/children abuse.
- Refusing to contribute financially
I left 2 spouses for all of the above reasons. My 3 kids are 18, 16 and 12, and they are awesome! I know they would not be doing as well if I had stayed in my horrible previous marriages. I was a single mom of 3 kids for 7 years. I am proud to say that I always had a job, place to live, a car, clothes and food and medical benefits; and I always made sure my kids never changed schools due to my divorces so that they could keep their circle of friends when their worlds were messed up. So I get really pissed off at people who neglect their kids! There is no reason to let other people abuse you or your children.
