I think, poor misled people and wondering what goes through their minds as year after year passes by and no New System.

Richie--I'll be thinking of you. I don't normally post on weekends, but I think I better bust out my home computer so I can read your updates this weekend. I guess I'm surprised it took them this long, you've been pretty open with your pictures and locations and everything. But to me, that tells me you've made your decision that you don't want to be a JW anymore. I really think you're a great kid and I wish you the best, and I admire the things you've been doing. It will be hard losing JW friends and family, so be ready to embrace the 'world'. Worldly people are really not that bad, I'm one and think I'm more decent than a lot of JWs I've met.

New to the forum - want to introduce myself
by lovelylil inhi my name is lillian and i am posting for my first time.
i was a witness along with my husband and two children for 12 years and gave in my letter of disasociation about a year and a half ago.
i have struggled with the guilt of bringing my family in contact with the witnesses (i have always been a bible searcher) and i am only coming to terms with this recently.. i now consider myself a born again believer in christ jesus and read my bible daily to check and see what is true.

Welcome! You are soooooo fortunate that your spouse and kids left too. I enjoy life with my kids so much, celebrating holidays with family, letting them be involved in sports or music or whatever they enjoy, and telling them they need to go to college and have a career. I thank God above every day that I left that cult while my kids were very young.
Look forward to more of your posts.

What Can't You Stand About Jehovah's Witnesses?
by minimus ini'll tell you one thing that just got to me this morning.
i was playing tennis and at around 9:30 my tennis partner and i looked up and lo and behold!
2 witnesses were walking up the street.

Nicolaou--I don't disagree with you. I used to be the smuggest of the smug, arrogant, and extremely judgemental of others. I was also an extremely unhappy person with low self-esteem and severe depression issues, maybe being arrogant gave me a false sense of superiority.
I used to really get sick of the quotes from the scripture that talks about "God chose the lowly of the earth" or something along those lines. It was being fed from the platform constantly. It pretty much taught the JWs that they weren't good enough for anything.

Their smug attitudes make me sick. I see a couple of ladies at the bus stop holding up magazines sometimes. It's kind of creepy when you really look at their faces and the way they act--reminds me of Stepford wives.

Here We Go Again: The Annual ``Behave! at Conventions" Harangue
by Room 215 innow that the gerontocrats have dispensed with their annual springtime campaign of blustering everyone away from the wine and bread, it's now time to for the yearly decalogue of decorum; an epistle to the clueless.. in the april kingdom ministry the old farts tackle their annual chore of getting their dubbies to somehow behave like normal, thoughtful human beings when let loose on the public away from their kingdom halls.. what do we find on page 5?
``reminders" to the rabble not to save seats; not to leave the premises during the noon lunch break, nor to bring booze or large coolers; to tip at least 15% to 20% when dining at restaurants.
this, i believe is a first; they now feel they have to coach jws on just how much is considered apopropriate by ``worldly" (read ``normal") human beings.

It's because Jehoober's Witlesses don't further their education that they don't know how to behave.
Oh BEHAVE!

Tell them you heard from a JW that they believe the WBTS is God's organization on earth and ask them to prove it from the Bible, a non NWT Bible.
