I'm Gonna Be A Grandfather!!!!!
by minimus inmy daughter and her husband told me and her mom last night that she is due december 24th!
it will be our first grandchild.
she'll be 28 and is sooooooo excited!

UPDATE: Semi-Back-in-Business
by RichieRich inover the past couple of weeks, i've learned a lot about myself and those around me.
life might suck, but life moves on.. mom's grip is weakening, prob.
because she's getting tired, or because she's beginning to realize how things are.. not everything i have done is admirable, but its done.

If you could go back in time, how far would you go?

i'm not talking about going back 200 years now, what i mean is if you could go back to when you were younger, how far back would you go, and re live that period of time up to today, maybe in order to fix something that still bothers you today, or just for the joy of living it again.. if i could go back in time, i'd like to be 17 or 18 years old old again, go back to college, follow a different course, meet plenty of young poeple, party in the bars once more, and re live the joy of having young parents and having a full life in front of me.. how about you, how far back would you go?

Disfellowshipped but sister in the 'truth' to be married soon
by cyberdyne systems 101 injust wanted to start a topic on an event that will occur sometime later this year - namely my sister is to be married.
she is a witness as is her boyfriend, none of his family are in but only myself and my dad are not (he has never joined) from my sister imediate family.
so i was wondering what to expect, what experiences people here have had being someone who has left and then later been disfellowshipped, and then finding they might be invited to a witness wedding?

vent time....friends who steal
by lucifer inokay i need to vent, i have a good friend who steals, i'll call her tina.
she is not poor, still lives with her parents who spoil her rotten, they buy her anything and ask for nothing in return.
she has had one job i think and didn't like it so she told the manager off and quit after maybe a month...it was at a video store for f's sake!

People who steal or lie really annoy me! I am married to someone who lies and his son lies, and I'm ready to divorce him. I really just cannot stand dishonest people who want to take advantage of me or other people.

by BlackSwan of Memphis inok yesterday i was on my way to bally's and thought i would stop at target to get a coffee (they have a new starbucks in there) and get a few things first.. thing is, on my way there i noticed that there was just something in the atmosphere that day.
pretty weird.
couldn't put my finger on it.. target is located at the west end of a strip mall.

BSOM--I think that is great! For many years I felt sooooo uncomfortable when I would see JWs I knew. Now I really don't care, in fact I was cracking up to myself the day before Easter--I was wearing an Easter sweater with bunnys and Easter eggs all over it and ran into a JW at Walmart. I was busy talking to someone else I knew so I looked over, smiled and said hi; she paused as if she was willing to speak to me but then moved on--probably after noticing my very Easter sweater--I was cracking up to myself.

back in the good ole' days, witnesses used to come in all the time to see me.
i would say that there were maybe three or four families that came in regularly.. since the announcement was made though, i've had at least 35 diiferent people come in.
