can a person be disfellowshipped and not know about it?
me and my husband have been shunned the moment we stopped attending meetings.
no one has ever called and only a few have come by over the last 2 years.
My mother was DF in the early '70s for smoking. They called all the smokers in and gave them six months to quit. She was unable to attend meetings on a regular basis. At the end of six months she was disfellowshipped, never a word from anyone. My brother, who was ir-regular at the time as well, was told at a meeting he attended.
It's not like my mother was hiding, at work, or home, they all knew were to find her. So much for Christian love.

Moped around for several years then took that leap of faith and started celebrating birthdays, holidays(my wife went mad with joy when I said: "lets do Christmas this year")voted and we joined a nice quite mainline church were I taught Sunday school for several years. Dabbled around with the leaf a little, didn't like it, gave it up. Was always a hard drinker until I gave up drinking bout 10yrs ago. Smoked for years.
there are so many 'used to be jw's' now i am just wondering what is causing the revolution in the organisation.
is it due to the failed prophecies, flip flopped doctrines, changing new light or is the borg squeezing the rank and file hard enough for them to realise the truth ain't the truth?

The internet is the key. Also, I believe it has always been for every two that go in the front door,three go out the back. The internet has made a difference. I hadn't though much about the Society in years. Until I got on the www and begain doing searches to pass the time. Man you can find just about anything on here.

My father went back after many years. Spent his last years a staunch Witnesses, I was so so with it. Changed our relationship.

when i first left the jw's i didn't know what i wanted or who i was.
