When will we have Armageddon, according to the last new light?
by dgp ini'm just curious: has the watchtower said when we will have armageddon, or they are avoiding to give any date, or are they avoiding noticing that all the signs are there to suggest that there is a specific date we should look forward to?
any dates?.

On this April Fool's Day.....my thoughts are of my JW family member...who I deeply love. But, unfortunately....he's a fool. A fool for letting himself get suckered into joining this insideous cult.
From the very beginning, we tried to warn him. For years, we lovingly tried to open his eyes to the fact that the WTS is NOT what it claims to be: "God's true Organization"..and.."God' channel of communication of earth".
But how could we possibly compete with the WTS's indoctrination process?? Answer: we couldn't. How could we compete with the WTS's requirements?: 1) start studying with a mature member every week; 2) attend multiple meetings per week; 3) go out in field service every week; 4) study the WT & Awake magazines; 5) avoid reading anti-JW material; 6) avoid people who have left the Org; 6) avoid people who are "opposers"; 7) stop gathering with family members for Holidays; 8) believe EVERYTHING the JWs tell you.
I have come to the conclusion that nothing is going to shake my family member's faith in the WTS....UNTIL he starts to doubt & question the Organization ON HIS OWN. Perhaps then...and only then will he be open to conversations regarding the deception of the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society!

Hello Bluegirl!
I'm SO glad you found your way out of the cult......and so glad that your precious little boy won't have to suffer the kind of "life" JW children are subjected to.
You will find much help and info on this board.
All the best to you!

To quote P.T. Barnum:
The WBTS will survive as long as...."There's a sucker born every minute".

When you were a JW....
by lavendar in.
for those of you who started studying with the watchtower society as an adult (not born in)......did a friend or family member ever try to dissuade you from joining?
if so, what did you think of that person at the time?.

dobbie - Yes, they twist the scriptures to fit their erroneous doctrine and beliefs. It all sounds correct and good....but nothing could be further from the truth.
I do that too.....try to educate people about the WTS. As soon as my family member started studying.....I, unbeknowst to him, started educating my other family members so they wouldn't get sucked into the cult too.

choosing life - You're so right......that's why I never speak anything against the WTS to my family member.....b/c I know he would shun me as an "opposer".....and all communication and a good relationship would END RIGHT THERE.
I just hope and pray ...with the internet...and the lack of love within the Org. ....that he'll someday realize the WTS is NOT what it claims to be.

garyneal - yes, unconditional love is most powerful thing in the world, in my opinion.
It's just amazing to me how the WTS thinks they can take the place of God....and determine who will die and who won't. It's ludicrous!

dissed - Isn't it astounding what a controlling HOLD the WTS has over its members?!

Mattieu - Sorry to hear your mom still believes the lies of the WTS. ...yes, the WTS tells prospective members that friends and family will oppose their joining....so when the oppositions DO occur...the WTS becomes a "true prophet"!
Spawn - GLAD you're out now!
