They always seem to have an answer and an explanation for all their wrong-doings!
Nothing but sheep in wolves' clothing!
apparantly, these days it is general knowledge in our local congregation that the wtbts had joined the united nations as an ngo!.
this is not a problem i am reliably told by a local relative.. the un nations deserves the same respect as any other governmental authority and just as jehovah's witnesses would obey the law of the land there is no problem in being part of the united nations!
i know jws have their minds well and truly under control, but as i remember the united nations was bad mouthed from its inception by the wtbts.. hyprocrisy, lying and slander were all words that crossed my mind when talking to this relative, but the huge pointlessness of trying to wake up a jw from their 'cosy' fantasy world suddenly struck me and i made my excuses and left..

i have a family of 4. each of us have very different likes and dislikes.
my husband and youngest daughter are vehemently opposed to tomatos or tomato products.
spaghetti sauce is completely out of the picture.
I raised my kids like I was raised. If you didn't happen to like what was being served, you didn't eat. Period.
It's a parent's responsibility to provide healthy food for their kids. If most kids had THEIR way, they'd eat nothing but junk. Healthy food is SO important; more important to one's well-being than a lot of people realize. That's why there's heart disease, cancer, etc. now in epidemic proportions. Institutes have been collecting billions and billions of dollars to fight cancer, etc. for DECADES. But it just keeps getting worse. If people would only realize it's WHAT WE EAT, for the most part, that determines our state of health. "Your are what you eat".
I feel for you Black Swan! I remember what a struggle it was sometimes trying to get my kids to eat what's good for them. If your kids are very young, it WILL get better as they get older. Be encouraged.

i rarely ever set foot in the place and will go out of my way to avoid shopping there.
tonight i made the mistake of giving walmart the benefit of the doubt and walked in the door.. they didn't have the main item i was looking for, but they did have one other small item.
i headed to the front to check out only to find they had only a few check-outs open and all of the lines were far too long.
Heck, there's not much else to choose from around here.
That's because they put everyone else out of business!
I'm also a member of the "Hate Wal-Mart" club.....even though I'm surrounded by them! Their customer service is a joke; employee wages are pathetic; they've brainwashed everyone in this state against Unions; they put other stores out of business;.....to name a few reasons.
Well, that was a nice rant. Thanks.

i live in the southern united states.
i'm not too fond of the state i'm in but i'm within close driving distance of some very cool places.
the people in the south are awesome, very hospitable.
No, we really don't like it here in the Mid-west. The people are WONDERFUL, but we can't stand the humidity and the snow/ice. We are dis-placed Californians, who moved here about 15 years ago. We would like to move back to the West; namely Southern Oregon (b/c there's NO WAY we can afford Southern California anymore). Do any of YOU live in S. Oregon? What do you like about it?.... what don't you like about it?

is it the members of that particular new kh who all chip in to pay for building materials?
or do the gb boys pay for them?
i know the jws all volunteer their time to build the khs, but who pays for all the building supplies?.

it's only my third day here so, go easy on me.
lol.. seriously, my new doubts have made it harder and harder to go in service.
a few months ago, when a new month rolled around, i realized that i hadn't actually gone in service at all the previous month.
Hi Orgull!
I've never been a JW, but I just wanted to say I'm so happy your shackles are loosening and you're becoming FREE! GOOD FOR YOU! I keep praying for the same for our son.
I really liked your story about the grocery store.

was wondering something: if after all the prodding and urging from our jw daughter-in-law to convert our son (her husband).....what if he decides not to get baptized into the borg?
will our dil catch some "heat" because of this?.
lavendar .
She's been "working" on him for YEARS and so has the KH.

in a previous post, journey-on layed out the whole week's schedule for jws.
i really appreciated that because i'd always been curious about how many meetings, etc.
per week.
Thank you, sir82, Johannes and Auldsoul!
