  i was just curious about this question.

  when i was a jw i remember a young baptized sister that got pregnant and she was unmarried.

  i was waiting for the elders to either disfellowship her or reprove her but nothing happened to her.

  I was in the borg up until 97/98. I would like a more recent one but I haven't asked anyone still going to order or get one for me. Are they or have they started having publishers register the copies of the CD-ROMS or sign an agreement not to violate copywrite laws? lol

  Jan 1st WT: Reaching out, Higher Education and Providing for one's needs

  well, as a nice start to the new year, the jan 1st watchtower article, "how firm is your trust in god" blasts those who live comfortable lives, those who don't reach out, and those who pursue higher education.. definitely, they are taking a harsher stand, having completely painted themselves into a corner.. i highlighted the interesting comments.

  i did not include all the text for each paragraph, just the main points.. .

  1 a young man wanted to be more useful to the congregation.

  see any greek-english interlinear.

  the nwt translates the greek word "esti" as "is" every time it appears in the new testament (eg, mt 26:18, 38, mk 14:44, lk 22:38, etc), except in mt 26:26-28, mk 14:22-24, and lk 22:19 where it is rendered as "means", even though this word is translated as "is" in the kingdom interlinear.

  They saw my Xmas tree! What do I say?

  this is what i am worried will be going through my mind in less then a month.

  i have always wanted a big christmas tree but since i was a full fledged jw till 5 yrs ago i never had one.

  i just last year was able to get a small table top tree for christmas.

  "heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

  " matthew 24:35. this is speaking about the word of god, the bible.. can you say this about the myriad of countless numbers of books and various publications published by the wts?.

  gawd, i forgot how immersed jw's are.

  everything you see has some part of the wts involved with it, from the calendar on the fridge to the pictures on the walls, you can't get away from it.

  of course i love my brother to death, but i tell ya, i've only been here overnight and it's already getting to me.

  I have known of some cutting pictures out from the calendars and framing them; the one that comes to mind was a picture with the scripture from Joshua "as for me and my household we shall serve Jehovah". Guess they wanted to imitate the walls at bethel decorated with all the paintings that are usually in the books and mags.
