Robhic! I never really sat down and compared the two but when u think of it, Satan doesn't sound so bad after all! LOL
Thanks for the interesting point of view!
why is satan supposed to be so bad?
he gets the blame, sure, but what does he explicitly do?
that god had?

for those of you not "keeping up with the organization"botchtower deals soley with all the bullshit instances of "increased light" on this joke of a religion god's organization.
it asks many drone-like thought-provoking questions as i've listed below.
incredible that these guys claim to be the sole ownership of what is absolute "truth", yet change doctrines like i change lipsticks.
lol... the article should be entitled: Flying by the Seat of our Pants - The GB Story
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
OMG, I almost had a heart attack!
Manipluation = WTBS
Convincing = The evidence prestened on this board that puts the nails in their coffin
we tend to throw around the term apostasy quite loosely here... i was thinking the other day, what exactly (according to the wtbs) constitutes "apostasy" .
"definition: apostasy is abandoning or deserting the worship and service of god, actually a rebellion against jehovah god.
some apostates profess to know and serve god but reject teachings or requirements set out in his word.

It goes on to list "identifiying marks of apostates"
To me, this sounds like apostasy can be easily defined as anyone who goes against the ORGANIZATION, not someone who commits an unforgivable sin or who speaks openly against God.
Anyone else find any "society" info on apostasy that sounds any different than the above? Am I supposed to believe that I will be punished by God for going against an earthly organization?!
(why did this not sound so foolish to me before?! )
often what we accept in society, is based on how and where we were raised.
for example, in some countries it is okay to have more then one spouse and arranged marriages are how you marry.
often we take these examples, and others that happen elsewhere, and label them as just wrong.
I must admit, in my experience, couples who adjust that commitment and open up to have sex with others don't last.
My bf and I (who have been living together for 4 years) adjusted our relationship to include others and so far it has been great. We have been exploring our sexuality together for 2 years now and so far it hasn't caused relationship problems.
The only thing it has caused is really really great sex!!

It was not the Canadian Supreme Court ;that made that decision, it was only in the province ofQuebec
It was the Supreme Court of Canada ruling on two cases FROM Quebec:

Swingers have clubs thoughout the United States where they meet other couples for sexual fun and games. Most of the couples are married, but enjoy sex with others, too. The Canadian Supreme Court just ruled that Swinger Clubs are legal in that country. It's an interesting concept that's been around for years.
There are some awesome clubs in Montreal too... to me it is very similar to polgamy. Yay for Canada!!

I think I made it sound like my bf doesn't agree... we had a conversation about it and he thinks it is a lovely idea.
lol
