Saturday am went to my local house of worship and picked up a load of new cabinets for our kitchen. Spent the remainder of the day ripping out the old built-ins then started installing the new bright white with nickle trim. Made another two hour pilgrimage to same blessed throne, (Longview Home Depot is an hour away) to pick up one i missed. Got all of the 15 pieces installed by late Sunday night. Up early today to load up pick up with old cabinets off to refuse center. Spent quick hour at work to justify my existence, then home to get ready for oldest son and his family visiting. Had Papa Murphy's pizza for late lunch, said good bye to visitors, then hit the couch for quick nappy! wide awake now thinking about Christmas dinner which is boneless lamb roast with mint jelly and the trimmings.....and football! carmel

Describe YOUR Christmas season thus far!
by AK - Jeff inwhat have you done [or anticipate doing] that is special, original or just plain exciting to you?
the grandmunchkins are all excited about christmas morning, and there are stacks of presents under the tree.
the tree has become more colorful this year, as we add to it every year now.

Cherry Mishmash
by hamsterbait ini have never met any of you, but have to say how much happiness and relief you all have given me over the years here.. i could mention some names, but just want to say that the atmosphere of love and acceptance here, and the prayers of some have helped me so much.. sometimes just a smile, or a squeazed hand is enough.
i have had neither from this board, but i want to wish all of the posters and lurkers all the very best in 2008.. love .

I have a theory. Please take my poll!
by changeling ini'd like you all to tell me 2 or 3 things:.
1- were you raised a witness or not?.
2-if you were, was your family very "theocratic" or not so much?.

Reared a good little dubby, by a dysfunctional "theocratic" family, resorted to agnosticism, became and am still a Baha'i. carmel the former agnostifarian

i wonder what word it will become to describe these ones and the action taken?
we don't have one yet, but most dubs i know are still saying "he's disfellowshiped" oooo scary.

What keeps most members in the ''spiritual netting'' of the WTS?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inbirds or any other animal can be caught with a net.
they don't have the wisdom to see what's coming.. what does the wts use that is so powerful that most members can't seem to escape?
what makes them so powerful that they can have so much effect on everyone of us?.

1) addictive promise of everlasting life in paradise, which becomes the fear of loosing same!

My apologies to OUTLAW
by onacruse inon a recent thread, i made a bit of fun about outlaw having to eat penguin morning, noon, and night.. as is the way of things, his almost unbelievably super-nasty p/m back to me made me do some research, and lo and behold, i found a plethora of penguin recipes suitable to all but the most sensitive of palates:.
penguin fricassee.
penguin & chips.
