Lies on Line...I always thought JWD was a forum for Honesty
by restrangled inafter finding this forum and being raised in the jw religion, i found jwd a refreshing place for honest feelings, fears, life experiences etc.. the history of the jw's was exposed, and those who lived any experience under this regime has been told by many members.. to be lied to by any forum member is insulting.
i have over my past year and 1/2 come to love many posters.
i realize many more have much longer time put in here.. i have been honest and exposed more of my self than i care to think about, but always kept in mind that others were doing the same and it was best for anyone new.. to lie on this forum to all of these members is horrible and i am questioning why i am so honest here.

Would You date a black man or black woman?
by Save My Soul inmy sister-in-law is recently divorced and went to a witness online dating site.
she mentioned that many of the witnesses specified that they wanted a white or latino only.
of course there is nothing wrong with this (personal preference), but i found it interesting.

Unfortunately when I was dating, there wasn't a black lady within a hundred miles. I would have had no qualms about dating/marrying someone of any color class, religion or ethnicity. Spice is nice!! Two of my sons married beautiful girls, one from India the other from Pakistan and we adopted a five month old girl of black/mexican heritage. carmel

Finally! We have power again in Astoria, Oregon. It's been off for four days. Luckily we have a gas fireplace insert and gas hot water heat! Bought a generator today, but don't need it now!! New light is getting brighter!! carmel

For those who believe....in the beginning there was only one stipulation
by restrangled init was (don't eat from this tree).
i think most of us could abide by that rule with no problem.
personally i would love that chance.. but organized religion has turned it into a labrianth of rules with sub rules that are almost impossible to follow.

Your handle suggests that you are "choked" by what you correctly percieve as inappropriate intrusion into our lives by the JW heirarchy. I would caution you to not be too inclusive in your condemnation about religion in general as there are several "orgnized" religions that do not impose the burdens of laws on their adherents. Off hand specifically the Quakers, Unitarian Universalists and Bahai's are very much into proscribing principals and teachings that are left up to the individual to inculcate into their personal lives, or not! In the case of the latter, 99% of the Baha'i laws are focused on administrative guidelines, not personal conduct. In other words, it addresses collective behavior much more than individual do's and don'ts. A very liberating and empowering way to live. carmel

It was definately the fear that Jehovaclause would not leave the package of paradise under the tree of life for me. It took a few years away from the "source" to shed the fear. Cult programing is powerfully potent. carmel

20th Anniversay
by VoidEater inmy partner and i celebrate our 20th anniversary today!.
hmm...a successful relationship outside of the the troof...who would've thought it possible.... anyways - 20 years without a raised voice, a fight, a heated argument; 20 years of mutual respect, even when not in agreement, and getting along; 20 years of love and kindness, and mutual support.. who would've thought a jw and a mormon could both recover and prosper...!.

...the only advice I can offer is for you to download Skype if you continue to communicate with her. At least you'll save a few hundred bucks a month which you can save up for counciling when you finally realized you're nuts! carmel

Knights Templar logos and "cross and crown' on old Watchtower covers!!!
by Witness 007 inthe old watchtowers {see proclaimers book} had a middle-ages knight with a lance on it in one corner.
also the "cross and crown" was visable in the other corner.
if you research "cross and crown knights templar" on the net, you find that this was a masionic christian fraternity starting from the 1700's and very popular in charles russell's day.
