I never wonder that. They are a bunch of liars and experts in self-deception. Some of them I believe are complete con artists and the others are fooling themselves. If God was really communicating with them, if Jehovah's Witnesses were really "the truth", then why are they wrong so much of the time. Why do they have to back track and redefine and ignore their own history? They are just the same as the false religion they condemn to death.

Gal is an idiot. Sorry, but some young Nigerian guy isn't interested in a middle-aged white woman for anything but gaining citizenship. When you're in your 50's its a strange place. You can remember very well being young while you're staring "elderly" in the face. I think it causes you to do stupid things as you try to deny reality.

Think About It: You Would Be "In Service" Right Now But You're Not!

I still wake up on Saturdays grateful that I'm not going to have to force myself to get dressed up and show up at the KH in order to peddle magazines for the whole morning. It was never a rewarding thing to do for me as I hated bothering people and, often, very few would be home anyway...so it was pretty much a waste of time and gasoline.
Sometimes I look back and wonder how I put up with it for so many years.

A Plea to JWs That Are Attending This Year's District Convention...
by Tuesday inthis is my plea to active jehovah's witnesses attending the district convention who are about to hear the change of the generation doctrine.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crc2i4xt32a.
.
hope everyone enjoys it..

Sadly, carla, I think with JWs, you have to wait for their brains to progress to the point that they finally realize for themselves what a load of junk it all is. Until then, they are caught in the loop of We're All Imperfect Humanoids/Wait on Jehovah/The End is Near, which continually resets their bullshit meter. Just got to wait for it to finally overload one day.

Who is the most unforgetable president of the WBTS?(Not neccessarily the best)
by african GB Member ini'd say jf rutherford.
he ruled the society with an iron fist and set the benchmark for the organisation..

I don't know a lot about the various presidents of the WBTS, but from what I've read, "Judge" Rutherford has made the most lasting impression. It seemed to me that he set the path that the JWs have followed since his reign. I also think he was either completely delusional, thinking that he could indulge in all kinds of behavior that got other JWs disfellowshipped because he was the head honcho, or he knew it was all garbage and was playing it for all he could get. And he got quite a bit, a mansion in California, trips around with world with his mistresses, respect from hundreds of thousands of JW peons, new cars and all the booze he could smuggle in from Canada.

I saw a Kingdom Hall in the most unusual place I've ever been last week...........
by WingCommander inso there i am, on a rented boat soaring down the canals of the famous "floating market" of thailand.
it was about 12:30 pm, so most of the waterways were fairly cleared out of the merchant boats, so our rented boat was really moving to get to where our host wanted to take us this fine day.
i was sitting at the very front of the boat, so i didn't get splashed by the mirky canal waters of the mekong.

Actually, your comments about China are something the Goobering Body is probably well aware of. I'm sure they use the fact that there are these places with huge populations (and very few JWs) to promote the theory that the JWs have lots to do in order to preach to the whole world...and thats why the Big A hasn't arrived. Dovetails nicely with their new definition of the generation who "sees" the events of 1914 not passing away and all that.

Dreams of the Second Coming of Christ
by sacolton ini don't believe dreams have any divine meaning, but i had the most vivid dream last night and wondered if others have had dreams of the second coming of christ.
from what i remember, i was at work and there was a huge trumpet blast and the sky split in two with a bright light.
christ and all the angels appeared and i fell to my knees.

When I first stopped going to meetings, which was a conscious choice on my part, I would often have very vivid dreams of people marching on a crumbling road towards a light or something (can't remember clearly anymore. I'm sure it represented a safe haven for all of Jehoover's little minions) over a parched landscape where the earth shook and thunder and lightening rent the sky. In my dream, I sometimes fell off the road and the rest of the dream was spent scrabbling up the rocky ditch I'd fallen into trying to get back to the road in time. Pretty clear that I was stressing about my decision to stop going to meetings and my fear that I wouldn't make it through the Big A when the time came...any day now.
Fortunately, those dreams have faded with the knowledge that I was a dumbass for having become a witness in the first place and putting my boys and myself through 20 years of crapola. Now I'm just angry at myself for all the things I didn't do and choices I should have made instead of joining a foolish cult because I wanted someone to take care of me.

Who can tell? Ah, if the elders could only read minds, eh? Of course, then they'd get their own minds read by the other mind-reading elders and that might not be good for their JW careers.
I never got into a DFing situation back when I believed, but I suspect I would have been the sorriest of the sorry and knelt down to take my lashes like a proper little slave if I'd gotten into hot water. I was kind of stupid that way. Hopefully, not so much any more.
I'm also sure that there were any number of JWs who got caught and were only sorry for getting caught, not for whatever transgression they committed.

I have trouble relating because I could never stand the soaps. Even when I was a stay at home mom, I didn't watch them. Of course, maybe that's why I couldn't stand most of the sisterhood when I was a JW either...just couldn't get into the fun of being a gossiping hypocrite...and JW women are right on par in this area with the "worldly folk" they so despise.
Of course, they're just as bad as wordly ones in most areas, they just put heavy pancake make-up over it all and pretend they are perfect.
