That article was just so sad. I know it is played out often in dubland, such a waste of love.

PIMO but to scared to talk about doubts
by Indoubtbigtime ini am pimo but too scared to talk about my doubts with anyone for fear of being shunned.
i know many now have doubts that the vaccines are safe and effective this is as good as doubting the gb.
you can it say anything in doubt about the vaccines because the gb still act like salesmen for big pharmaceuticals .

It is my (non jw ) understanding that even a baptized jw does not have any guarantee of surviving the big A, they only have the 'hope' of surviving if they 'do' enough meaning fs hours, reaching out to become elder, pioneer, etc... even then they may not be 'worthy'.
https://jwfacts.com/watchtower/salvation-only-for-jehovahs-witnesses.php
I know my jw thinks that somehow all of us (his entire family, children, spouse, parents, etc...) will make into the 'new system' due to his 'work' and maybe because deep down we are 'good' people but just can't abide by all the jw rules just yet, lol. I guess we may get to ride on his coattails?
Most of us look at his vision of paradise earth as 'hell'.
I find this fitting- “I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.”

So where oh where did Judge Rutherford come up with JW theology?
by Terry inbits of unreported history that may be of casual interest… as to doctrinal origins.
sykes was one-of-a-kind in the pentecostal movement, but he was considered quite a maverick who went his own way with heretical teachings repugnant to the pentecostal faith.. joshua sykes’ congregation was integrated, unlike pastor russell’s public speeches/sermons where blacks and whites both could attend, but only in separate sections--sykes's members were sitting side by side in the pentecostal church.
this was considered dangerous and inflammatory at the time.. pentecostal preacher joshua sykes practiced racial and gender "integration" as early as 1908 -- having both african-american and female assistant preachers, staffers, and members.

I wonder what current jw's would think of the Harp book? My jw wouldn't even look at it! I think because he believed I purchased the (original copy) from an apostate. Why that would make a difference I have no idea. It is/was genuine jw book. I think every jw should read it and see where it takes them. It is one of the more insane things I have ever read. That is saying a lot because I have no problem reading things that some might find a bit 'out there'.

Sunday January 15 is my 76th birthday. I answer some of your questions.
by Terry inhappy birthday 2 me!!.
sunday is my 76th birthday and i know that you want to know how it "feels" to have outlived my usefulness, to have lost my natural beauty (being reduced to wrinkles and flab), and constantly walking into a room not knowing why i'm there.
you also are curious as to how i can continue to find a reason to live since none of my kids think my opinions have any possible value, most of my facebooks friends i wouldn't recognize if i tripped over them on my way into starbucks, and my monthly expenditure on bird treats exceeds u.s. spending on the military.

It’s started COBE asking all appointed men if they are fully vaccinated
by Indoubtbigtime inthere is a huge problem now in all congregations as the gb stubbornly will not do the u turn on staying fully vaccinated that many hoped they would do.. all congregations around the world the cobe has to ask all ministerial servants and elders if they are fully vaccinated (meaning no more than six months since last shot).
there is a massive problem now with many many jdubs not getting their latest boosters and not wanting to stay fully vaccinated .
but more serious than that is how the gb painted themselves into a corner with these vaccine mandates.. most governments did a u turn on the vax mandates but the gb can’t get out of this one so easily .

Blondie, I think they have to show evidence of vax but maybe it is by cong or whoever is in charge of such things? then they can say someone just took it too far and it wasn't due to the gb blah, blah, blah....

Is The Religion Of Jehovah's Witnesses Biblical?
by Vanderhoven7 inthe answer is a definite no!.
because every doctrine that is unique to jehovah's witnesses is not in the bible.
the unique doctrines of jehovah’s witnesses are the ones that only jehovah’s witnesses teach.

Disillusioned, there is a difference between unity and unanimity. The early church was a lively place with much debate, one thought it was bad to eat meat and the other thought it was fine, to each his own for one example. The body of Christ has many parts and different functions to each.

Has anyone ever become a jw by reading just the Bible? (and I don't mean their 'version' of the Bible)

by peacefulpete ina lot of ink has been spilled on the topic of the cross.
the wt felt it had uncovered some deep conspiracy when they found a number of words were used to describe how jesus was understood to have been killed.
there was an extensive thread many years ago that in short strongly supports the conclusion that at least some nt writers envisioned a cross, while others had a tree in mind.

Medical evidence
The Romans choice of using a cross over a stake was apparently due to the cross being able to extend the time it takes a person to die. By staying alive for hours or days the crucified person served as a warning example to others. The site centuryone.org/crucifixion2.html (February 15 2006) looks at some of these issues. Quoting research contained at F.T. Zugibe, 1984 Death by Crucifixion, Canadian Society of Forensic Science 17(1):1-13.6 it shows that on a cross, rather than a rapid death from asphyxiation death it can take hours or days to die from hypovolemic shock. On the other hand, death on a stake is rapid. Summarising research by P. Barbet 1953 Les Cinq Plaies du Christ 2nd ed. Paris: Procure du Carmel de l' Action de Graces;
"Eye Witness accounts by prisoners of war in Dacchu during WWII reported that victims suspended from beams by their wrist, which were tied, expired within ten minutes if their feet were weighted or tied down and within one hour if their feet were unweighted and the victim was able to raise and lower himself to permit respiration. Death in this manner, which is one form of crucifixion, was the result of suffocation."
The length of time Jesus and the other two survived after impalement shows they were likely supported on a cross by a sedile.
