Would you change the way you left if you could?

if you were put in a similar position to when you left the jws, would you choose to leave in a particular way because of your experiences?

if you had nothing to loose from family etc, would you be tempted to leave with a bang, or to get some sort of revenge on those who shun you?

I wish I had been more deliberate. I just sort of faded away but I carried guilt and hung on to dubthink for close to ten years before I allowed myself to really live life as a regular guy.

With a more concrete reason to leave I might have more easily translated from dub to "me". But then again, I might not be the man I am now if I took a different path.

What did YOU do during the downtime?

so, if i'm not much mistaken jwd was just down for over 24 hours - the longest time i can remember in over four years of posting here.

these things happen - c'est la vie.. so what did you do during this time?

did you suffer the dts?

I worked, slept, made crab soup, rode my bike,and started reading "Party of One, The Loner's Manifesto".

And obsessively hit the refresh button to see if the site was back yet.

Do you like to complain?

in a way i love to complain.. our roads are horrible, the gas is way to expensive, the neighbour is a pig and could sweep his darn sidewalk, the lady across the street could put a smaller wattage bulb not to blind be on her porch, inflation is going up faster than my salary.....and so on.

Have you ever had a prayer answered?

seriously, has anyone here asked for something specific in prayer and actually gotten what they asked for?

what convinces you that you wouldn't have got it in any case?

I never really threw my problems out there for a god to solve. I vented, I wailed, but I didn't ask for help.

I think taking the time out of a hectic schedule to think, meditate, or pray can be theraputic. It can help you see other options, or be more accepting, or even allow for random chance (AKA life) to step in and shake things up. Some people might call any one or a combination of these things an answer to a prayer. I don't, but I also have no problem with that outlook.

Just one, myself.My ex-wife left of her own choosing and my son is attending a church on his own.

child abuse is not limited to jw's.. if you truly want to stop child abuse first start with the family , and be honest we all have a relative that is a pedophile.. then protect your family from stranger danger.. don't just isolate to jw's.. expand and truly stop the child abuse world wide.

Do you know if a child molestor is lurking in the store waiting for your child to be apart from you? You mean like the JW with the camera that was taking pictures in the men's room?

Is walmart responsible to inform you if they hire a pedophile? Actually, I think they are.

Do you know if your childs teacher is gay or lesbian waiting for a chance to sexually assault your child? WTF kind of assumption is this? Just because someone is gay does NOT mean they are a pedophile. It is a completely unrelated and different thing. You need to research this a lot more before you make claims like that.

Is it the schools responsibility to inform you of all the gay and lesbians they hire? No, and I don't want to know. What does this have to do with pedophiles anyway?

Do you know if your next door neighbor whom you have known 30 + yrs. is waiting for the opportunity to molest and kill your child? No, but then again this question seems out of place

Is it the neighbors responsibility to inform you of pedophiles in your neighborhood? I would hope so.

I am not trying to be insensitive (YOU LOSE) just realistic.

It is the parents primary duty to protect their children!

You said it right there, primary. Belonging to a community,especially one touting itself as god's chosen, should mean that there is protection for it's weakest and most vulnerable members, but instead the WTS is more concerned with covering it's own a$$ and worrying about it's reputation.
