me and the deemunz
by katiekitten ini was lucky to have been brought up in the troof, because if i hadnt, i wouldnt have known about the demons and how they are always looking for opportunities to lead us astray by appearing as ghosties, or by making household objects float, or by getting into our house through items bought from car boot sales.. my first memories of the deemunz was quite early, say aged 5 or 6. i used to think they were at the end of the bed, and so i had to sleep with my legs curled up as tightly as possible, so they wouldnt get my toes.
i cant even begin to think what terrible things they were going to do with my piggies, but sure as the apostles i wasnt going to give them a chance.. aged 7 or 8 i knew the deemunz were after me, because i was special.
i was a jehobas witness.

Well, I just had to clean the computer screen again, laughing so hard I spewed soda on it. What a joke! Smaller congregations so they can help out more!!!!! So they can be more nosier, controlling, and manipulating!
My mom needs help. She lives in a old trailer with holes in it. Won't ask for help. I just want to knock some sense into her. I guarantee the next time I get to Missouri, someone will get a visit from me. Oh, for you lurkers--it'll be the Columbia, MO congragation!!!

i have to admit, although i have been faded for many years, i find it difficult to even own anything with the american flag symbol.

I've always been patriotic since I left. Big time party at the lake, flags everywhere. When both wars in Irag broke out I had good friends there, and still do. We did the ribbons at the house and on the cars.
What really freaked my mom out was when I had my fingernails airprushed with a flag in the background and an eagle on the tips. They were really cool!

I think my exhusband will get the "most stupid" award! I'm gonna try and make this short. We were having a few problems, especially with the kids trying to play us. A younger girl started working in the office of where he worked. I had to work a 16 hour shift one sunday. So by the time I got home he was asleep. The next day I got a phone call from this girl that I needed to see this video she had. This girl was the sister-in-law of the bitch. They were so stupid, she was able to film them going to a house. When they went inside, she went on the porch. They started going after it in the living room, all the while she's taping it thru the front window.
Talk about becoming a psychotic bitch! I really lost it for a couple months.In another thread I'll have to tell ya'll a few of the things I did and got almost even. The hell of it was, after a couple months she dumped him for guys more her age!

Well shit, here I thought I was hanging with some spiritually pure, upright believers! Oh what I have gotten myself into?
I think I kinda like my "wicked works" and will continue to prefect them! I might even come up with some new ones. I bet I can even find a pretty good "reward"!!!

I went through with it!
by Frog ini gave blood as planned yesterday, and it weren't all that bad!
anyone who says it doesnt hurt and feel uncomfortable is telling fibs though!
all that passes relatively quickly, and it's all over within 20minutes at the most.

I'm SSsOOo Proud of you for giving blood!! Now, maybe you can maybe challenge the others on the board to do the same. After being an ER nurse for so long I know firsthand how important it is to give blood. There are times it is the deciding factor if someone lives or dies. If a serious trauma comes in, there's no limit on how much might get used for one patient.
Also, if I'd have been your nurse, you would have felt NO pain!! I only use the large needles on bad boys And those are the ones that it MIGHT take several attempts to get it right!

Are young JWs staying in or moving out of the borg?
by zagor inreally, just wondering if new generation of dubs is mostly faithful or tempted to try it all out.
are they faithful to the mother borg or are they starting to question it all.
i mean 10 to 20 years ago it took ages to come across some undesirable info about the borg, but now it is everywhere.

It's taken 12 years, but 3 sisters and a brother are finally all out. Out of the 12 that were still going when I left, only 2 still go. From what I hear, there is not many in my generation that even go to the circiut conventions. But in the congregation I grew up in the elders were SO controlling in every aspect of our lifes. They acted like the "parents". So of course, they were consulted about every move we made. They made our lifes hell!

How do you feel, relieved or sad?
by jula71 inive been doing a bunch of reflecting and pondering> im just seeing if anyone else has been feeling this and/or if its common.
relieved that i have a new found freedom, free to pursue goals and dreams i never could as a dub.
free from the guilt, always feeling god is watching waiting from me to screw up so he can erase my name from the book of life.

At first I was scared and worried about my siblings left at home. Then I felt pure freedom--went kinds nuts making up for lost time, doing everything I hadn't been allowed to do. I went thru a period of being angry cause I lost so much time with my sisters and brother. Now, I try and cherish each day, thankful they all found their way out.
Now I have a big world open to me. Full of possibilities!

Can disfellowshipping a person be harmful to their spirituality?
by JH inthe jw org wants us to be almost perfect.
the slightest fault that we do, we are treated as if we are entirely bad, then we get df'd.. it's an "all or nothing" way of thinking that can be spiritually dangerous.. example: if a jw is caught smoking, and becomes df'd because of this, that person may feel free to do even worse sins, because they can't be more df'd than they are right now.
so disfellowshipping a person for something as small as smoking or playing lotto, can be counter productive for the sinner.. it's like puting a person in jail for a petty crime.

Being df'd was the best thing that happened to me. I didn't believe in jehovah, or any god for that reason. I mean, couldn't you just "feel" god's love in the congregation? Yea, right!!
Now, like Rod P said, it cratered my self-esteem.
