some things confuse me here.
i am in the same position as many where i don't agree with so much the society says and feel stuck dragging myself to the meetings and then feel incredible guilt because the study for the day says it is wrong to have any doubts "even in private".

Personally, I have a very different view of my higher power. But it took alot of soul searching and asking questions. Like evil force said, got to keep a sense of humor. There's alot of serious dicussions here, and alot of laughter. No one HAS to agree with anyone. Just be true to yourself. Don't take anything at face value--reaearch it till you are satisfied.

at one of the last bookstudies i ever attended i heard a comment that really struck home to me how desperate these people really are getting, to the edge of insanity.
an older woman commented, "you can tell the end is coming.. its in the air.. you can feel it.. there is something in the air.. times are just.. different" and the whole time she was manically glancing around the room.
the conductor agreed with her.
Maybe some of these earthquakes is actually the GB passing gas, and has to errupt somehow.
My mom has really been paranoid, bordering on delusional. I was getting that crap about because of me, her grandchild and great-grandchild will not make it into the new world. That it's the same thing if I were to just shoot them now. There's only one thing I want to do with my gun, and I guess I had better not say it here!! She is so miserable, but tries sssoooo hard to convince everyone, including herself that she's never been happier. It's like there is a desperation that has enveloped her and her tunnel vision. My 3 other siblings get the same crap, only not as intense since they all live near her. But all have had to put their foot down with her.
This is all same shit, different decade. I thought they were suppose to come out with New light?! Seems to me they forgot to change the light bulbs!!

There have been a couple times that I will post "No Visitors--must check with nurse" on doors of JWs that were worried about elders or others just showing up. With new HIPPA laws, it's impossible for them to learn anything about the patient, unless that patient told them herself. There have been times that I would enforce visitation hours and not allow a room full of people that were there for no purpose. The elders have tried to pull that crap that they are ministers, and can be there. Didn't fly on my shift. I had an elderly sister be discharged. We were trying to make arrangements for her to have some help at home. She went down a long list of numbers, and not one M.F. could spare any time. She was embarrassed. The next pompous elder that came to the floor was put back in his place, and told how bad that looks, and blah,blah,blah.When I asked for the phone # of the district overseer, I got his attention. Plus we got some help for that little lady. It's sad when JWs think that fellow JWs will be there for each other, finding out very different!

how can cos & dos sabotage the organization and not come under the scrutinay of the service department?.
i'm sure there are many cos & dos that know the gb are liars but may be stuck in the work at the present, and so this thread is devoted to thing you can do to deliberately sabotage the control that the organization has over the friends.. while this threat has great potenial for humour lets see if we can share some ideas that double agents might use effectively.
Pass the book by Raymond Franz, "Crisis of Conscience" to all the congregations.
They can unite and become apostates with us.
They can cancel the District conventions.
They can collect the new releases and recycle them.
They can give the attendants different directions & watch the confusion.
They can all have a big birthday party!
They can go out of their way not to shun the Df's/DA's. Let them be first in line for everything. Welcome them to all the meetings.

this was a topic that annoyed me and i got into a bit of an argument years ago over this.. some sister (who never worked a day in her life i might add) with the cushy life, affluent husband thought that because she pioneered it was equal to me having a full time secular job.
there were others there who naively thought the same thing.
somehow i gave them an inferiority complex because i worked so they had to dream this up to make themselves feel better.. while i agree that someone who pioneers may be physically tired at the end of the day, there is no comparison to what i have to deal with in going to and from and being on a full time job.
The pioneers have learned to milk the system! Talk about deceptive ethics!As a nurse, I never got doughnut breaks, never got to act like I'm doing something--when I'm not doing a thing. It's all about how it looks on the outside...........doesn't matter who you stumbled or lied to along the way.
If they had real jobs, they would have already been fired! Or severely hurt by fellow employees!

it really gets on my nerves.. jw women used to be always focused, as their number one thing, on appearance.
they could be crap at the rest of the jw stuff, but if they turned up at the meeting dressed nice, thin, long hair, looking nice, all was forgiven.

Man, I have to agree with all of ya'll. The male JWs are taught to expect a submissive, quiet woman who has no idea how to think or stand up for themselves. That's what our parents attempted to do to all of us. But, for awhile in our congregation, it was slim pickings to find someone like that. Especially with me around. For a while my stepdad had to step down from being a MS. It seems he couldn't control his kids!!!
Finally, after me and the sister next in age to me moved out, he was given those "priviledges again". My mother was so clinically depressed she couldn't function. When she went to the elders for help, it only got worse. She needed to "try harder with her wifely duties".(GAG ME!) For many years dad slept on the couch and mom locked up in her room.But of course, on meeting nights we looked like the "picture of perfection".
Now, I still struggle with handling credit, bills, housing, etc. We were not ever taught about the outside world. How anyone could stand to be in like a vegetative state, is beyond me. Those are some of the ones I pity. They don't know of any other type of existance.

i was looking at the long list of jw "don'ts" and "can'ts" someone posted here and i was reminded of a talk at the service meeting an elder gave once.
it was from one of the most elementary of publications (aren't they all???
) and the elder on the platform said, "i'll speak slowly for the sisters.
I have to argee with Shera. Good thing I was never married to a "brother". The first time someone made a remark like, "speak slowly for the sisters"--would be finding it necessary to have my foot removed from his ass. Also people would have to speak slowly for him. He'd have alot of brain damage, in addition to what was already there. I'm thinking there must already be alot of brain damage that the elders have in common. I'd be one of those who didn't know how to be submissive, or how to obey the husband. Then I'd be in more trouble when someone would try and tell me what kind of sex was allowed. The ones who come up with statements like that are the ones who usually make fools of themselves.
Yep- my mouth would over-ride my ass (and it's pretty big). Someone would have to put those type of elders and MSs in their place.
after reading "running man's" excellent piece regarding cain and able the thought hit me: why not just hide from jehovah when armeggedon comes around?

I have to argee with everyone's "paint red above your door", don't forget the keg and Nascar/cowboys football. Seems to me, that they'd have enough to do catching up with the JW's, and others. I think I had permanently signed papers for any elder's meeting, on any topic they felt like nailing me on. Since it is considered that anyone that causes anyone to stumble is VERY bad-- the jw's will be busy for a while!! I figure that if my higher power wants me very badly, I'd be easy to spot--the one with the tequilia bottle! COME AND GET ME!!!! Wouldn't it be priceless for the JWs to go thru the big "A", only to find us there as well!!! They'll think they died and didn't make it "into paradise". That they are in hades with the apostates!!!
ok, I think I'm rambling. I've been up all night. This shit of not being able to find a job is really stressing me out. I do want to thank ya'll for being here. The shit I've dealt with due to my mom and stepdad would normally make me crazy. Being on this sight makes my backbone stronger. I feel like I could take on all those WTBS drones!

It's already been said. Not just living well is enough, is my personal opinion. They made our lives hell for too long. Leaving quietly is what they want. I am not about to do anything that is remotely close to what they want. I say, go kicking and screaming all the way. Do as much damage as you can. Show them what an apostate attitude really is. If somehow, I can put the flicker of doubt in someone's mind-it's worth it. Maybe, when someone hears your story, you've touched a life somehow. Maybe even helped someone find a way out and know they aren't alone.
The stories that are online, especially the ones at silentlambs have been my lifeline. Stories by stories, a glimer of hope shins thru. Each voice standing up to the Borg, chisels more away from their false teachings, and exposes them for what they really are. I could go on and on about this. It is time they were exposed for what they really are--a cult!
