  PINATA?????

  does anyone know where i can find any information in any of the watchtower material in regards to pinatas???

  i have heard that the society did a flip/flop on the issue, saying that it was okay to celebrate it now, explaining that we shouldn't be so nit-picky about how a practice was celebrated in the past, and concentrate more on what its meaning is today....that despite the pinatas' pagan roots, the practice of celebrating it or whatever, does not have the same meaning today, so it's up to an individuals conscience now.

  i often wonder if i'll ever be able to go to my niece and nephews graduation, wedding, birth of their first baby.....the borg keeps saying that the end is nigh and yaddah yaddah yaddah...which we all know is crap...but when will their end come???

  i miss my sis and my brother and even my psycho mom, b/c she's my mom and i love her...i mean...they can't keep this crap going forever...can they??.

  hi i was wondering if anyone can answer this for me .i am not a jehovahs witness .

  i have a friend who is a jehovahs witness , and claims that men and women cannot be friends .i am sure that jesus was friends with females , and i am also sure that some of the anointed had friends of the opposite sex .i just don't know how to go about to finding something in the bible to back up who is correct .thank you for any input .

  This is something that makes my blood boil about Jehovahs witnesses, there opinion that men and women cannot have platonic friendships is ridiculous.

  During my teenage years I lived in a little village, I was the only girl in my age group amongst about 10 or 12 boys.

  My mum was disassociated but still shared many of the same views as JW, including the one about males and females being unable to be just friends.

  She tried everything in her power to stop me from hanging round with lads, locking me in my room, finding me a weekend job, spying on me, but non of it worked.

  I think when I got to 16 without falling pregnant she realised that her daughter wasn't some kind of slapper but just enjoyed the company of people her own age, males aswell as females.

  As it happens, I still get on far better with men than with women and I do avoid the urge to get naked.

  in an earlier post i spoke of a young relative who is 16 and pregant and wanted me to help her get an abortion without the knowledge of her parents.. well i got the young girl to speak with her parents.

  i accompanied her.

  i wasn't 100% comfortable with my advice to tell her parents, because they are both dubs to the letter and dad is a hot head - he and i had numerous fights as kids growing up.

  you should be so proud of yourself for the love you have shown her.

  the poor girl, I just hope that the elders and congregation go easy on her, it sounds like she doesn't need any more stress.

  Internet Dating......has anybody tried it?

  well seeing as my social skills are severly limited or it's just really really hard to meet women i thought i'd get everybody's opinion on "netdating".

  i think it's worth a shot, i think it gives you an opportunity to meet people that you'd never meet in the real world, well it's 2 am and i'm bored, i guess i'd better hit the sack now

  I wouldn't say don't do it but if you do then be very careful.

  A friend of mine met a guy on the internet, he moved in with her, they had a baby, he never worked the whole time they were together, then he persuaded her to remortgage the house, £27,000 of her money was paid into his bank account and that was the last she saw of him, he never even called to say happy birthday to his son and it turns out shes not the first person hes done this to.

  Birthday Ideas

  does anyone have any ideas for a birthday gift/surprise/whatever for a 24 year old?

  my brother turns 24 tomorrow and has never had a family member do anything for his birthday.

  i would like to do something but really have no idea what to do.

  If he likes music why don't you try and get him tickets for a concert?

  You'd probably struggle getting them in time if his birthday is tomorrow but you could maybe get them for the weekend.

  I think if its his first birthday with a relative he'd probably just be really happy to get a cake and a happy birthday wish of you.

  To be honest unbeliever I would be very happy with that reaction, it would erase any doubts I have in my mind about whether I'm doing the right thing by walking away.

  I also think it would be worth it just to piss them off.

  If they behaved like this with me I would tell them that I don't take everything I hear for granted, I like to hear all sides of the arguement before I make my own mind up.

  Do you not think this would work?
