It will die out, but it will take more then a century. It will die out with all other religion. But WTS will be one of the longest lasting, together with some non-christian religions.
at least that is my expectation. B ut I am not a prophet...

however, following directions from their leaders in 1959, they suddenly slammed closed the doors, introducing beliefs such as: refusing to eat meals with anyone who was not a member and (this makes me sick) automatically breaking up families if one spouse questioned the authority of the leaders.

After the change in the 1914 generation dogma I think a lot of dubs realised that they had been manipulated into harming their educational and financial prosects and lost interest in preaching, others lost the sense of urgency the WTS so carefully cultivated in them.
They do not realise. Some old ones were just said that they would not life to see…
However, I did ask my mum a similar question and she told me that only one person in the congregation gets to look at the reports and he has to keep it confidential so there would be little point in doing lots of hours just to impress him.

Yes, all elders can see the reports, and they keep them also a long time. MS can also seen your statistics as they have some bussiness. (accompanying an elder on Shepart work or so). They will be used against you for a long time.
There are a lot of JW’s faking the report or adding some hours. Nobody questions that however when you do it.
But I guess most would go out preaching for loyality reasons anyway, it is not the only trick of the controlled system.
At every talk or every meeting the importance of preaching is always emphasises. Even a lot of JW’s get sick of it.

if a witness plays lotto, and doesn,t repent, he is disfellowshipped.. if a witness steals, and doesn't repent, he is disfellowshipped.. if a witness fornicates, and doesn't repent, he is disfellowshipped.. does this mean that the jw's consider playing lotto being just as bad as stealing or fornicating or even killing?.
how about you, in what order would you class sins?.

3. If a witness goes to police to report an elder for sexual abuse he'll be disfellowshipped for bringing shame upon Jehovah's name (never mind what elder did to his family)
Well here the CO went to the police because we had a fight in the cong…
4. If you disagree with anything at all and speak about it to others in congregation you'll be disfellowshipped for endangering the unity of congregation
actually list goes on and on. I think people under iron curtain had more freedom than most JW
There is one big difference. A JW is set free when done something against the system, they were put in prison

Ignorant Dub Friend Just Don't Get It

i explained to him that i'm agnostic too.
it was soo frustrating, he just couldn't get it.

80% of the people are just plain stupid, and are not able to communicate. Mostly because they do not understand what you say or do not listen.
p.s. inside the JW-org it is maybe around 90%
This happens all the time it is really frustrating. What sometimes helps is to say something shocking...

Does being a JW make a person physically sick?
by Gill indefinitely mentally and more than likely physically.. i have read on a few posts and freeminds about an increase of mental illness amoungst jws of between 2 and 40 % and it seems understandable considering the amount of stress being in the borg puts on people.. but what about physically?.
what are your experiences since leaving the borg?.
do you feel well and fitter than ever before?.

I am a JW and not sickly nor poorly...
Anyway before, when I was young, I was when going to the assemblies or even sometimes throwing out when going to the memorial.My parent toldme the Devil was doing it to me
Anyway since I do not think the assemblies as the utmost important in my life I am not sick anymore. Probably the stress and anxiety.

Field service horror/humor stories.
by sonnyboy inthis has probably been done before, but has anyone had any scary or funny things happen to them during field service?
i used to go door-to-door with the most obnoxious elder in the world.
if we approached a house, saw signs of life, but they didn't answer the door, he'd actually go around and knock on their windows!

One time a naked man opened the door in the winter. The old sister I was with did not hestitate but kept talking and asking him questions until he must have been freezingly cold. Later she told me: 'that will teach him' Funny sister.
Another time I rang the bel in an apartment building. At that time I heard a lot of screaming. The glass door was shattered right in front of us, and we start running. Just behind us a man was running screming 'she is crazy'. Then the woman came out yelling and broke another glass door with a karate-kick.
She had put the man out for some reason, but we did not wait to find out more... -

Hi Buck,
You made a tough decision, I hope she is worth it. I am a JW for many years now, but there some things what you can do if you really think she is worth it.
But think also about her. Would it be fair to here to pretend, only to make here love you? What if she ever find out,how long do you want to keep it up. I know about this because I am pretending for a long time now.
Anyway she will probably not marry you until you are baptised, this is more or less the unwritten rule in th WTS.
But you do not have to become a fery frequent fieldservice goer. There is no minimal hour requirement if some said. You can even fake the report nobody does check it. (just say 'informal whitnessing')
Personally I would try to get her out first. That would be better. But do it very subtle.

the is so much evidence that this great deluge never happened, but that is something you can't tell the audience from the stage.
(i will tell about that evidence if people are interested, but it is a bit off-topic now).

So this is never a issue.
