I am a sinner and there is no denying that fact
by Girlie ini have struggled with this concept for quite some time.
i feel like the apostle paul in that he wishes to do right by god in controling this issue, but find it to be a law exercising complete control over him.
i find myself wondering what is the use in doing so?

I am too stubborn to learn how to attach U Tube clips but there was a guy (died a few yrs ago) called Billy Thorpe (and the Aztecs) who was the LOUDEST band I have ever heard! He was my idol as a teen, growing my hair long and getting an earring at 15......LOL
Many in the States think he is American, as he was quite popular in the South. He stopped playing a lot of music in the 80's and early 90's, to make millions in America designing and creating children's toys.
He came back here and started playing just as loud as ever.
RIP Billy

I felt exactly the same as you at one point. I believe that I was truly looking for truth, so (tried to)applied what was said by the jw org. This standard is impossible to fulfill.
I asked other witnesses what they thought about this and most just didn't even ponder these types of dilemmas. They just had switched off and obeyed but on the other hand, didn't reflrct on their personal behaviour relating to wt standards unless it was brought to their attention by the elders.
So I came to the conclusion similar to WT Wizard, which ironically puts a lot more onus on the individual than the jws ever did. We need to be responsible global citizens, not mindless clones plugged in to the wts machine.

at what age are muslin girls required to wear the full dress?
by palmtree67 inpurps asked the question, at what age are the girls required to wear the full dress.. i recently read an awesome book called "nine parts of desire - the hidden world of islamic women.
" by geraldine brooks.. it gives a great history of islam's start and the whole "chador.
" thing.

There are similar sentiments here in Ausralia, young Muslim women wearing the full outfit as a feminist statement.
But sadly, it's usually the men who make public statements to the press and of course the press run with the outragous.
One old guy said that women not covered completely in public are meat which will attract cats....Which means they deserved to be raped. Didn't go down too well. It's hard to work out where Muslims (of any persuasion) stand on basic human rights....

When I was holidaying in Asia, I saw a woman covered head to toe and with lace over her eyes, so those couldn't be seen as well. But she wanted to show her wealth. How do you do that?
By wearing a gold plate over the shape of her nose!!!
That's not to say I don't enjoy cultural difference. Like xtians, there are fanatics and there are those who toe the line in public but have more balanced personal lives.

Sounds crazy but what about fresh drinking water?
The water would have been filthy with rotting plants and animals and brackish from sea water.
Keeping the fresh water up to those animals would have been more than a full time job for all aboard just with the elephants.

I read his bio.
Seems he has difficulties allowing the behaviour and words of others to affect his spiritual state. He left the wts a number of times because of this.
Looks like this attitude still plagues him by the comments about jwn on his new choice of forum.

As I recall when I was in India, not all are vegetarians. Actually I went to Mc Donalds(LOL once!) in Delhi but the burgers were chicken and I think mutton, no beef.
So your friend is probably like many devotees away from home, having a more casual attitude now he has left India.
No beef "should" be eaten.

UK Prime Minister: the 1914 generation "has left us"
by Olin Moyles Ghost intoday the last surviving british soldier who fought in world war i died at the age of 111. see http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32141785/ns/world_news-europe/.. prime minister gordon brown stated: "the noblest of all the generations has left us, but they will never be forgotten.
we say today with still greater force, we will remember them.".
when i bring up the "1914 generation" as an example of failed watchtower prophecy, some jws respond that the generation is not gone yet.

Also the jws (used to) say that the person had to be old enough to appreciate what 1914 meant, say 10 yrs old at least.
That's 105 now.....LOL

Examples of Superstition
In America, the number 13 is considered evil even up to today as and so buildings and other landmarks are not given such a number
