Knew a guy whowas president of a biker gang and had spent most of his life in jail. He lasted as a witness for about 2 or 3 yrs, rode his Harley to a liqour store and "convinced" them to hand over the cash via his double barrel shotgun. Cops had him within hrs. He went back to the only community he felt safe in (he was a champion power lifter), prison. Due to confessing to priors, he got life!

I'm not a fan of Jung, but...

Interesting side note: In my previous post I mentioned that Jung 'channelled' Basilides while writing the Sermons. I've read more of Hoeller's book, and it's his view that it was not 'channeling' but merely a matter of modesty. Like many writers of Mystic literature, Jung felt that he was writing from a 'higher self' than his own ego, so he attributed the Sermons to the ancient teacher.
That's why I warm to Jung as a person. He didn't suffer fools well but was loathe to be centre stage. Supposedly, this is why it took so long for a Jungian Insitute to be formed.....and for Jung to have is memoirs written. He actually needed numerous dreams to spur him to write and even then he stopped and Hannah took over.

Gave mw tingles as this was the tour that I met Plant in Byron Bay. Also, I was exiting the witnesses at this point as well.
Battle of Evermore. Very appropriate. This is bookmarked, Ta!

I do not attempt to explain the collective unconscious to xians because soon as you say that this timeless, spaceless knowledge could be called by some, "god" their eyes glaze over and you see their mind close even further.
As far as mystical powers being an advantage, well Jung is an example of diving into the river and nearly drowning, rather than filling his cupped hand and taking a sip. There are mysteries yet to be understood. Jung aparrantly used this short intense period to base the rest of his life's studies but turned more to dreams and synchronicity to guide his life. What an amazing individual. As said before, a true hero in every sense!

~Moving forward..searching for a good therapist~
by freeflyingfaerie inalright, that's it!
after writing this, i am on a serious search for a good therapist~.
i've been coming here on and off for a little over a year now(wish i had found it sooner) ...for validation and clarity in my feelings about how hurtful the religion is...so i don't feel so alone about it, and so i don't feel like i am losing my mind~.

From what you have written, I believe you are incredibly brave and honest. It seems you already have the answers but just need time and space to vent, where you won't be judged. This site was valuable for me esp as I didn't realise that I had hidden emotions around my experience with the jws. When I exited, I moved on fast. Much was unresolved. I personally didn't lean toward therapy as few would understand the cult. I reckon you need to meetup with other exjws..
