What am I so scared of?
by katiekitten inive thought about posting this for a good few weeks, and finally decided to now the initial upset and outrage have calmed down in me.
hopefully i will be more objective in my post, and more robust to take some constructive critisism.. i have been divorced 7 years, since my daughter was 1.
50% of the blame was mine, definately.

I never feel rough and ready in anyones company.
I lived in Hong Kong about 20 yrs ago and used to hang out at the HK yacht club. Millionares(and a few billionares) by the score. Rather than feeling inferior, I felt sorry for these repressed buggers who were forced by daddy and mother to the "best" schools then into daddies business. Many actually admired my free and easy lifestyle.
Mostly good people too.

People are animals
by joelbear in.
new orleans is becoming an interesting sociological study.
when the artificial comforts of the human world are gone, all you are left with is your animal instincts.. people are reacting based on their life experience combined with their genetic make up.. some docile, some in aggressive attack mode

I appreciate your level response CJW but if you read Katies response.....
I am over fathers not taking responsibility for raising their kids (just making rules is not effective parenting), esp not communicating with the mother. When I was new at my job, I would listen to these guys, as thet come across so measured and rational. Just wasting my time mostly. I would try to be gentle but it just doesn't work.
What he sees as good disciplined parenting, well Katie answers this. He hasn't worked through his issue with his parents years ago ( plus a host of others). Here I go making excuses for him. I reckon he needs to truly grow up.
All are suffering at the moment, especially the little girl.

To confused jehovahs witness
Your comment about the daughter not being happy with visiting her "father" and the father not being happy as well has one basic error.....She is SEVEN years old. He is allegedly an adult.
I am a parent and raised my kids with good manners and was big on teaching them to be healthy individuals but it was done with love and understanding for their age and differing abilities.
As a youth worker I have seen this pattern many times. The father is getting at his ex through the child. His strictness is showing her how sloppy her mother is as a parent.
Until he matures he is ruining his relationship with his daughter, so I believe that a holt on his access may shake him out of his hurt feelings over the breakup of his previous relationship. What does his current partner think of all this?

Ain't life grand?
I'm just a bit cranky cause I've been given the run around by current squeeze.
Similar stuff really. How do we know what's going on in others hearts and minds? Doesn't matter how much you communicate, ultimately it's a game of trust. Honesty is my catchcry and I'm simply not getting it and my patience has run dry, so goodbye to her. At least as lovers, could still be friends(I hope).

Aren't you marrying soon?
Money is the greatest cause of tension in relationships, because it raises emotions about security or lack thereof.
You must work it it out now as it will only get worse post marriage
