i have had a quick look and found no references to this, so - here goes..as in the mag we picked up on sunday.. worldwide % increase over 2004 = 1.3%.

memorial partakers 8524 (compared to 8570 in 2004).

most european and nth american lands show pretty static figs - britain 1% increase, canada 0%, germany 0%, france 1%, usa 0%... but spare a thought for the inhabitants of zambia where 1 person in 90 is a reporting witness, must be hell going down to the local market!

Is spiritual compatibility important?

how important is/was spirituality to you when considering a person as a husband/wife?

did you expect the person to have similar spiritual beliefs and goals?

if s/he didn't have similar beliefs, was it important to be able to discuss spirituality respectfully ?

I am not married but do find it a continual frustration that most women I spend time with have little or no interest in spiritual matters.

The ones that do are mostly b a xtians , so are dogmatic. They are not interested in a conversation so much rather preaching at me.

Recall the blessing of solomons temple, the passover and the innumerable battles which required the slaying of all including babies and even beasts.

My problem w/ evolution vs. creationism

i personally don't care what anyone else believes.

i believe that there is a creator that created the heavens and earth.

i believe that it occurred over a period much longer than 7 literal days.. here's my problem.

You have the right and responsibility to teach your children whatever you like....At home.

Too many complain about the curricula at school but don't take up the job of teaching children from the knee.

I know you will respond with, "I already do this" but think about it. Doesn't the evolution teachings at school give you ample opportunity to debate with your kids?

I did this as a jw. Had no problems with the education system as it raised questions for my kids(even though I have moved on in my personal beliefs) that we would discuss

Prostitution and Marijuana

i feel that as a country we waste so much time and money fighting prostitution and marijuana use.

not that i think these things are something everyone should use, but the fact that we make these illegal and yet other things happen that are the same thing, or worse.

for example, in nevada, outside the city limits, it is legal for prostitution.

I had a friend for a number of years who was a sex worker. She didn't need drugs to work and she had invested the money in real estate.

Actually she enjoyed the sex! Oh and her customers weren't just men. A very powerful woman who had a plan.....

Marijuana?

I live in pot central and am surrounded by smokers( no I don't smoke anything). Decriminalise, yes. Legalise, no.

I work with teenagers and in my experience, pot can bring on schizophrenia and paranoid delusions.

Also, in this country most people smoke pot with tobacco, so it burns smoother, better. Lunging tobacco and hydro, healthy??

When kids start hacking up shit from their lungs I say. Got a bad case of bongcitis have we?

Can someone explain the whole Armageddon/judgement thing to me??

i've been doing a lot of research lately about jws and their beliefs for various reasons, not the least of which is curiosity (don't worry, i'm not converting - i'm curious, not insane!!

), and i've come across a few things that don't make much sense to me.

well, most of these things don't make sense to me, but some stand out more than others.. so, in my wanderings, i've seen lots about whether or not jws believe that they're the only ones who get to survive "armageddon" and live in "paradise earth" and such, and the general answer tends to be, "well, others will get the chance to be resurrected at "armageddon", too, if they're worthy", or something like that.

Armagedon is when the loving creator comes to visit his children and announces his arrival by rotting the flesh and spilling blood of 99.9%, then scrutinises the remainder for a thousand years, then wipes out a shiteload at his next visit.
