mine was for giving a sister that i grew up with the watchtower that dealt with birthdays being on the same level as anniversaries.
she quit going because she could not understand the societies position on birthday's.
the elders were mad because i knew how she would react and they thought i did this to cause problems.
15 - for my hair - I had it curled - it was too curley & therefore I couldn't get baptised
16 - for not showing love to a sister - cos I told her that stringing 6 guys along was risky
18 - for drinking
21 - wanted me to pimp on people at a witness wedding - told them nope I wasn't going to do that.
23 - for my laughter
28 - for going to another church.
bonus points if you don't mention wt publications!!
the first book that ever made me cry was the grapes of wrath by john steinbeck.
most recently, i was reduced to a blubbering wreck reading the five people you meet in heaven by mitch albom.
Books that deal with loss/hope/freedom/grace/joy pretty much make me cry all the time. Hell I even cried at the end of Lord of the Rings when Frodo had to leave for the Undying Lands.....

there are so many i probably missed a few--i was in this nonsense for 32 years and i half way believed it--but i never believed it 100 percent--thank god for ray franz---that guy was all class--i am at a point now that i dont know what to believe--but i know one thing--:"never again will i fear men----never again will i be a respector of men---i have seen all this little so called power grab called privleges--that is just a ticket for a man to walk around like a rooster---you all know how a rooster walks around the yard--when i used to get there on thursday night all 8 elders would be walking around shuffling paper like they do at the pentagon or the cia---a congreation of about 70 and all this paper work--or was it all a showy display?it was a peivlege to clean the toilets--can you imagine that?
i used to go to clean the hall and it didnt even need cleaning--but one had to act like he was doing something--i used to hate getting dressed up for those 5 meetings--i now wear anything i want--i let my hair grow anyway i want--if i want a beard i grow it--no more fear of those big elders--those elders loved judical comittes--it meant they could now be like a lawyer and a judge--power- power--thats what its all about--thanks for letting me share--the hag

i was recently talking to a girl in my psychology class who told me that she use to be a jw and was df'd in the mid 1990's.
this girl shocked me because usually ex-jws are so unhappy and miserable and spend most of their time complaining about the "evil" wt society.
she told me that when she was df'd alot of ex-jws swarmed towards her trying to get her to "bash" the wt but she refused.
For me it's not about "to bash or not to bash" I've kinda recently just left the whole borg behind, & am finding out about the lies - so it's more of being floored and expressing my disgust at this borg that I put so much of my life/time/energy into.
i have, and i honestly don't seem to be getting the repercussions across.
my parents and siblings are not witnesses, so when i told them about the jc letter arriving, they just shrug their shoulders and say "so what?
have you ever had that experience?
It's because the cannot relate to the witnesses, 'cos they don't have the same structures in place. I mean when I tell people about committee cases, disfellowshiping & the lies they have told, they just cannot grasp it and think it's just a matter of snapping your fingers and you can leave. they also don't understand the huge relief once you are out.

Wars, hunger, earthquakes and all the things listed in Matt 24: 1-14 (read onwards too 'cos the prophesy doesn't just end at :14) have always happened and will continue to do so. It's just that in 'those' days the distribution of news wasn't as easily done as it is today - that's why we get to hear about "all these things".
Besides is "the end"" going to be a literal thing at a literal time....nah..... Think about how figurative the bible is from Gen 1:1 right through....

The reason she got disfellowshipped ties up with me as well. Like you know madmax has been out for 8 years, then her and myself went off to a church @ the beginning of the year. I got deceived into going to a committee case, where they wanted to know what my mothers' influence was on my going - to which I replied -"NONE" I asked her to come with me. And reminded them this was about me and not my mother. Anyway it was then they said they wanted to chat to her but I refused to give them her number - but they got it some way or the other.....
Mom - You & I both know that we've made the best decision to leave the borg. They offer nothing but condemnation, & though some family may shun us we are blessed to have each other & our "worldly"family to which I am forever grateful. Their love is not conditional.
i had a hard time accepting that jehovah's witnesses are a cult.
i would even agree that they might be "cult like" but i didn't want to accept that i indeed was part of a cult.....what about you?
I found it hard to let them go as the truth. I'd say they have the most light/truth out of all religions today, but now I can confidently say they are perhaps the biggest liars out there. I have no difficulty in leaving everything about them behind.
