You are telling me ab otu science that we both know. However the author of revelation didnt know about any of that.
No, I'm saying because they didn't know, they made up stories that aren't consistent with what we know now.
the saying people will make the same mistake over and over again is so true.
in the "revelation grand climax at hand" the revised one 2006 the wt again makes the same error and attributes the words at rev 22:12 to jehovah on pgs 306 and to jesus on the last page 319. you would think they would have learned their lesson from the 1978 wt blunder.
they almost use the same wording discussing the suddeness of jesus coming and jesus encourages his followers of his sudden coming and they list 5 scriptures and say jesus spoke them and one of the verses is (rev 22:12).

i started this thread as a single place for anyone who would like to add references to source material, or anything else for that matter, pertaining to the jeremiah book study.. .
page 52:.
here is a thread and numerous comments concerning jeremiah 13:1-11 and whether or not jeremiah traveled to the euphrates to hide a garment.. .
Years ago, I did a verse-by-verse study of the Jeremiah book on my own. No, not the Watch Tower Society's 'Jeremiah' book. The actual Jeremiah book. The one in the Bible. And I found it to be quite different to what is postulated in JW doctrine.
Later, when the Watch Tower Society released its 'Jeremiah' book, 'imagine' my 'surprise' to find it wasn't actually a verse-by-verse consideration of the Bible book.

Because the seasons and zodiac are a circle and never end, the author is equating God and Astrology.
And this is also another indicator that the concept of an eternal god is made up. The seasons, the universe, etc, will end. Eventually, the sun will run out of material for fission and it will stop burning. Before that, the orbit of Earth will decay and the planet will be engulfed by an expanding sun. Later, the universe may expand to such a point that heat death occurs. It just takes a very long time.
Humans don't last a very long time, so for most practical purposes, it seems as though the seasons go on 'forever' (especially to primitive shepherds), lending to the artificial concept of an 'eternal' god 'controlling' it.

Cold Steel:
The confusion springs from the fact that when man fell, he no longer had the access to the Father, who previously "walked and talked" with Adam and his posterity.
Actually, the confusion springs from the fact that Revelation is a hodge-podge of imagery from various earlier incongruent myths.
i was waking up out of a sound sleep and a complete thought presented itself to me.. i should write it down.. so here goes.. the bible says adam lived 930 years.
methuselah lived 969 years.. now.... that led to other thoughts.... seems more likely the old stories of adam and methuselah use a word misunderstood by some later writer and maybe a confusion resulted.. maybe the word should have been moons.
like the apache use to say, "i've lived many moons...".. after all, the word month is a corruption of the earlier word moonth which means 30 days.. the lunar calendar was a very popular means of counting time waaaaaay back in the olden days.. .
Maybe the word should have been MOONS.
This idea implies that Kenan had a child when he was not yet 6 years old.

There is no reference to the 'Alpha and Omega' on page 306. You may mean page 304 or 316, but page 316 fits the context better.
However, there's no 'smoking gun' here, because in paragraph 9, they claim, "After Jehovah, Jesus speaks", offsetting verse 16 onwards from the previous reference to 'the Alpha and Omega'. It's a weak explanation, but it's the one they have.

i ate at brooklyn bethel twice, 23 years apart.
both times it was fried pork chops, mash potatoes and apple sauce.. just lois.

My most not disliked meal at bethel was Coco Pebbles or Boo Berries for breakfast.
So... no Lucky Charms?
okay, this might sound like a really stupid question, but after researching this matter for the last hour, i still have no idea why the watchtower society points to 1914 and 1919 using the 70 weeks theory.. don't get me wrong, i know all about 607 b.c.e., but i am having trouble understanding why the prophecy of the 70 weeks has been added.
whose idea was it to add the 70 week business into the mix?.
i've researched the following websites and jwn threads so far, yet i'm still hitting blanks:.

Okay, this might sound like a really stupid question, but after researching this matter for the last hour, I still have no idea why the Watchtower Society points to 1914 and 1919 using the 70 weeks theory.
The following, from my article on the subject at http://jeffro77.wordpress.com/jehovahs-witnesses-and-1914-2/, explains how they arrive at 1919:
The year 1914 is essential for various core doctrines of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Significantly, they regard their interpretation of Jesus’ ‘faithful slave’ illustration (Matthew 24:45-47) as identifying the Watch Tower Society as God’s channel of ‘spiritual truth’, ^ and the time of the identification of this ‘slave class’ is dependent on the year 1914, derived from their interpretation of parts of the book of Revelation. Specifically, Revelation 11:2-3 mentions periods of 42 months and 1,260 days (both 3½ years). The Watch Tower Society applies this period literally, from December 1914 to May 1918, † after which they apply the 3½ days of Revelation 11:11 figuratively, identifying these periods with their preaching work during World War I, followed by a period of imprisonment of early Watch Tower Society members in 1918. They believe that after their release from prison in 1919 that they were approved as Jesus’ ‘slave class’. This creates a paradox as to whether they were approved by Christ prior to that point, and therefore whether their interpretations regarding 1914 should have been heeded.
^At the Watch Tower Society annual general meeting in 2012, the ‘faithful slave’ was redefined as only referring to the ‘Governing Body’, the members of which are not formally ‘directors’ of the Watch Tower Society and related corporations. (Most members were not officially advised of the change until the 15 July 2013 issue of The Watchtower.) In practice, all activities of the Watch Tower Society and its affiliates are overseen by the Governing Body.
†Prior to the Watch Tower Society’s revision of Revelation—Its Grand Climax at Hand in 2006, the 42 months were said to have started in October 1914.

They don't. The 70 weeks 'prophecy' from Daniel 9:24-26 is [mis]used by JWs (and other Christian groups) to point to the time of Jesus, though it actually referred to Cyrus as 'Messiah' (at the end of the '7 weeks'), Aristobulus (2nd century BCE) as 'Leader' (at the end of the '62 weeks') and Jannaeus (during the '70th week').
i live close to a resonanbly busy street, 20 odd shops banks, a train station,a couple of cafes and coffee shops etc and usually see dubs doing street work close to the station and i'm now on nodding terms with an elder who is out most days of the week and have got close to recognizing most of the hard core of about a dozen of them , i was walking out of the cafe yesterday to be greeted by a couple of newbies i'd never seen before , a scruffy short dumpy man and a fairly well presented middle aged lady, i'll try and abridge the conversation as best as i can, we must have chatted for about 15 minutes and it was all in a good mannered style;.
me " have you sold many of those this morning ?".
jw guy " oh no we dont sell them we give them away for free" (like i didn't know that).
me ... IMO the WTS own website is biased"
her " oh no , our website is run by our own brothers"
Oh, well it can't possibly be biased then.
