*Serious Question* ...Do you ever HATE yourself by times?
by Legolas in.
if you do, how does one shut off that feeling?.......
anyone got any suggestions?
-
misguided
I'm thinking when you say by times, you might be meaning hate yourself at times? If so, then YES...I've experienced those feelings. Going in to a group therapy counseling program helped me get over the worst of it. I see you live in Canada, in my area they are free with a family doctor's referral. It is comforting to realize everyone is imperfect, and others struggle with these feelings, too. You can learn skills to divert your thinking to accept yourself more.
I think when you come from such a guilt-driven, gotta-be-perfect-or-die-at-armaggeddon organization, it's hard to love yourself for who you are - in spite of the stupid things we do sometimes.
(((HUGS)))
A quick trip to the doctor; a hot bath with some salts and maybe some candles; take yourself out for a special treat; call a friend. Just a few suggestions.

I couldn't put it down to do anything else until I was done reading it. Thank you so much for sharing your story. You are one amazing man....wow!
Has anyone else read his book yet? What did you think?
I would really recommend it.

Are You A Guilty Type of Person?
by minimus ini was talking to an inactive jw and she said she was loaded with guilt and dread, thinking she might be destroyed at armageddon.
i have no such feelings.
how about you?
-
misguided
Yes, I still fight many feelings of guilt. Some days I'm fine, others I'm still over-ridden with it. It is improving as time goes by, though.
