listening to cnn and other news outlets, i find that the media pundits are making a big deal out of nuke plants vs terrorists.
in one case on cnn they are either illinformed or dishonest.. the claim was made this morning that nuke plant containments have never been tested for an airplane crashing into them.
this is false.. i posted on this topic two or three weeks ago.
THANK YOU!! I am so sick and tired of all of this media hype. I agree with you, I think the whole idea was to fly the planes into the WTC. I do not think our reaction or the world's reaction was planned for! Bin ladin made the statement that the U.S did not have the courage to attack him, and I think he really believed that.

those of you that don't go into the chat probably think i have disappeared from this site.
Think of it this way - put yourself 10 years from now. As you look back, will you be more proud that you hid it or more proud that you let everyone know you were a couple? If you are hiding that you are a couple just to make others feel better while you feel worse, what is the sense of hiding it? Get out from under the brain washing! Live your own life openly and fully and with no regrets. Nothing else works!

recently, i was taking part in a discussion about women and how a lot of the ideas about women came from the bible.
as we discussed this, it seemed most of the stories were negative, with the only exceptions being ruth and esther.
negative references include references to eve, jezabel, deliah, divorced women, widows, and lot's wife, were fairly frequent.

Help me out, are there any stories in the Bible where the main character is a woman that is in a very positive tone about the woman or women in general? Also, if divorced women are hot and lead men astray, is there any mention about divorced men? In truth, I don't recall any stories like this, but this could just be the religion and its emphasis on men.

yesterday was my grand daughter's birthday.
i called her mother (my daughter of course) and heard all the noise and commotion in the background with the birthday party going on.
my daughter, maria, got my grand daughter miya on the phone and i wished her a happy birthday.

why is it in the bible that it does say that jesus said to take the bread and the wine in the last supper, but he doesn't say its restricted only to the 144,000 going to heaven?
he was talking to his apostles of course, so does that mean only the elders, and anointed should do this?
i have looked in the bible on who should and shouldn't do this and have found nothing.
The bread and wine are symbolic, to be done to remember Jesus and what he did. It does not indicate anything more than that. Also, when the Bible mentions the 144,000, it says they are from the 12 tribes, and they are men who have not had sex with women. I really doubt if too many Jehovah Witnesses fit this category!

well actually they have perfected using the system to their advantage.. my e-x bro -in-law got married and made a buch of kids as quiclky as possible, but some how managed to stay on food stamps from day one!!!
Wow, I have not seen that picture in many years. It brings back a lot of bad memories! I once asked a JW how they could tell their children not to go to college and yet freely take of those of us who went to college - doctors who treat them, teachers who teach their children. Or not vote, and take from those of us who try to vote in people to help our communities. I was advised that since they were the chose of God, the rest of us should take care of them. That one still leaves me speechless!

Help me out -- isn't this a film about the end of the world. One of the Christian TV stations was interviewing people saying Project Megiddo was the most attended films in America. (a bit of a stretch!)
Again, don't you think the FBI has better things to do, especially now? I love it when people say things like this. Persecution is everywhere and nowhere. And before we say the FBI is trying to discredit Christians, let us not forget, J. Edgar Hoover was a great Christian who attended church every Sunday!
people usually turn to god in times of distress and tend to forget about god when things are going a bit better,right?
so if the devil really wanted to succeed in turning people away from god all he would have to do is make life more comfortable for all of us.
i mean lets face it if everyone was loaded with money had access to every convenience, if health was not an issue we all had to confront would we look to god for salvation then?
I heard once that the greatest trick of the devil was to convince man he does not exist, and the second greatest trick was to convince man that he is everywhere!
If there was no devil, who would we blame things on? Ourselves? Taking personal responsibility is very difficult. I liked the reference to Job, but my question is who is the devil in this. Somehow, a god who would kill an entire family, remove all wealth, and cause great sickness just to win a bet is more of a devil than a god!
